Annette.....Yes, I do but I don't have a camera to put pics on my profile.

I am not good with that kind of thing. My daughters send me pics. I am behind the times!!

Plus I never spent money on a new camera because I usually send any extra $ I have to my kids. That is okay....they are worth it!!

Love ya....hugs.....connie d

I'm not sure of the spelling Annette but the party is called a Quincinierra- it's a religious celebration where the daughter pledges to keep her virginity until marriage.

Julia,
Thanks. I am reading about this event. VERY interesting concept and elaborate ceremony.

hello, george and all....

i made a decision this morning that i am NOT going for plasma tomorrow-since i couldn't give on tues, it means less pay tomorrow and i simply do not feel up to it -the feeding rituals that are needed to get my iron up...i'll get over this and i will go next tuesday-just not tomorrow! giving my body a week off won't hurt either....just the bank part hurts!

sure glad it's a short work week cuz it feels like it's dragging!

a couple of folks -nancy b and julia, i believe, have talked about dentistry this week- i cannot think of anything that i have endured in my life that is worse than having my mouth worked on....oy! a simple cleaning is the end of me let alone fillings! i really would like to just have my teeth extracted and replaced...i know-careful what i wish for!

annette-i can't think of the name of the ceremony/festivity either but how awesome for your grand!!! i am certain he will make you proud!!!

did some shopping and dreaming after work yesterday- bought some yarn and the new loom that i wanted- used my 50% off coupon at joann's so the whole purchase was what the loom would have been! i have a project to start tonite so i can get it in the mail! while i was at joann's; i dreamed thru the sewing pattern catalogs--i have not sewn in years and i don't even know if any of my machines work but i need a period costume end of april--if i could decide to do the sewing it would be one thing but -dang! patterns are up to $16.75!!! when did that happen????? and then i am just not sure i can do it!!!! and my seamstress MIL is the one who passed away a few years ago so....i have to ponder this problem awhile!!! the dresses i have found online that would do what i need will run at least $100-$150-might be worth it between the pattern and fabric! but the satisfaction of doing it myself--ah well...

it was great to see floyd and aime post yesterday! i cannot believe that LP is 14 months old!!!

it's 12* here this morning and we are sposed to get rain and snow-it was so dark yesterday watching out my basement window at work that it looked like nitetime!

well; i'm rambling...probly should go get gorgeous for work-sure don't feel it this morning!!!!

hugs and prayers.....................

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Good morning everybody.
Yes, we are going to get our paycheck.  I guess people were playing politics (imagine that).  A few were saying if the governor did not sign this one bill, they would not let us have the money for paychecks, tax refunds, blah, blah, blah.  I think it was a little blackmail.  But I also think people are getting tired of our governor.  She keeps saying she is here for the Kansas people, but all she does is run back and forth to DC to try to get on one of the President's cabinets.  Everyday there is something on the news that she is being considered for some office.
I say BYE BYE.
Nancy, hope you are feeling better today. I would milk this for all you could get also. LOL
Margo, watch the patterns, they go on sale for 1.99 or .99 all the time at JoAnn's. Hopefully, before April.  Most of the time they are 1/2 off.  But yes, they are expensive.
Pat R glad you are back on track again.  I really really need to get my head on straight.
Well, better get ready for work.  I am procrastinating again.

Take care,
Mickey

Good Morning George and all,

Great post, George.  It reminded me of when I first started coming to OFF when there was a daily recap.  It's lots of work addressing everyone's posts.

The vow renewal was just a little fun thing this time.  When we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, we had a church ceremony and big reception with lots of friends and family.

Sure hated waking up this morning to snow on the ground AGAIN!  I'm so tired of snow and ready for Spring.  Also tired of being so cold all the time.

Tonight we're attending a Kitchen Remodeling Seminar.  We've lived in this house for over 2 years and it's time to remodel the kitchen.  We did it in Dayton just before we found out we had to move.  So much work but we might as well enjoy the house while we're living in it.  In the past we've made changes in order to sell and didn't get to enjoy them.

This week has been so busy that I'm ready for a weekend with no plans.

Have a great day!

This is my short day at school.  I only teach two classes; however, I am heading out after school to do some charitable work in some of the poorer school districts.  Tomorrow, I will spend the day talking to high risk students and hoping I can get them in a program that will help keep them in school.  While I love this program and spend hours helping out, I am always drained when I come home.  Mostly because of the disparity between poor and rich and black and white and because I feel that we, and I mean educators, are not doing enough to keep kids in school.  The good side of all this, I get to stay in the big hotel with the big tub and the big pool and the big patio and the big hot tub.  Yeah, when poor white trash goes to the city, we don't know how to act.

Hope you all have a good day

I'm right there with you in the big pool and hot tub. If we always had everything we wouldn't be able to enjoy these pleasures! Also, my friend, don't ever forget, and I'm sure you won't. . . how far you have come. To be able to enjoy all of those things on top of the wonderful outreach to poor students. It doesn't get much better! Enjoy each minute of it.

Good morning George and everyone....

Thanks for the recap George....I really enjoy them.

Nothing much happening here. Much colder temperatures this morning...UGH!!

My cleaning fairy is here. She is so awesome...I just love this little gal!!  My laundry is about done and she is cleaning away right now. I live alone and am a bit of a perfectionist so it is never very hard to keep up. She likes to come here.

The ceremony for Dwayne's mom was just wonderful. What a great honor for her. She so deserves it!! Not just anyone gets a Volunteer of the Year Award from the state. Dwayne has 7 brothers and sisters....each one of them got up and spoke. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. Several others spoke as well. It was all very emotional.

So far today my family all seems to be doing well...thank goodness!!

I will quit rambling now. Special prayers to those in need.

Share a smile today!!

Love and hugs to all......connie d
