every two weeks on friday, we send our time sheets via email to our super and mine stated that it included the hours that i was going to work on saturday from 6 am - 230 pm.....so saturday morning i went to work; opened the court house door with the swipe key thingy and walked to the elevator to go to the basement to my hole...there's an alarm beeping...oh great---warren knows i am sposed to be there so i just opened the doors with my regular key; turn on the light, the radio, the ionizer, the fan, the copy machine, open the window...take off my coat, try to put my lunch in the kitchen frig-can't-the door is locked and my key doesn't open it...go potty, fix a pot of coffee and get to work; locking myself back in the office so nobody can bother me -approx 25 minutes later; a flashlight in the hall and there is a maintenance man and two of fremont's finest looking at me! seems that the alarm was cuz of me (which i figured when i emailed warren to notify him of it!)-the building is armed til 7:15...well nobody told me that!! soo----after giving the officer my name rank and serial number-i mean name address and phone number, i get back to work---the cops are looking at me like why is this woman at work at 6 am on a saturday???? the maintenance guy gives me the lecture about the alarm being on til 7:15 and says he  gets two hours ' pay for call out and says it's ok that he was sound asleep on saturday and hasn't had any coffee yet and i am rattled thinking i'm gonna be in deep dooo-------warren takes some of the blame in a later email and says to have him show me how to unarm for future!!!!

It was a mistake.  Tell the maintenance guy to get over it.  He got paid for 2 hours for probably 15 minutes of work.  I would not have been very nice, even if I was the one who set it off.   The boss knew what you were going to work.  His fault.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

oh- i am all good with this- i was confident that i was doing nothing wrong! i had prior permission to be there ; had the key card and keys and was on camera for most of teh events! the maintenace guy was ok with it once the officers left --he smiled knowing he got two hours' pay!!

it was abit disturbing to know that it ook almost 25 minutes for anyone to show up!!! guess it takes that long for don to get outta bed!!!!

My first thought was of you with your pants pulled up to your chin, a pair of suspenders and crazy striped socks. Whew, this is MUCH better!

Glad the boss took some of the heat....should have been all of it.

hugs to ya

 Big Hug Margo -

He was lucky you gave him coffee instead of throwing the pot at him. 25 minutes is a loooong time for him to check an alarm.

You followed procedure Sweety - don't fret at all.
