my home made high protein, high fibre soup recipe
I was asked for my soup recipe so here it is:
large pot of homemade soup stock or water
one pound of lean ground beef, chicken, turkey or veal
2 cloves of fresh garlic, chopped
one cup of dried vegetable flakes *
one cup of pearl or pot barley *
one cup of dried mixed beans *
one cup EACH of diced onion and celery
sea salt, fresh-ground black pepper, summer savoury
OPTIONAL: canned/frozen tomatoes-crushed
* bought at the Bulk Barn(bulk food retail store)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. hea****er and broth in large pot
2. add ground meat using a potato masher to break it up as it cooks
3. add other ingredients
4. bring to a boil
5. turn down to simmer for several hours til beans are soft.
Flavours blend even better after the first day. Enjoy. This soup give extra protein and fibre. Easily re-heated in the microwave.
