nancy; thanks for getting us started!!!!
good morning! it's 9* here and the sun is coming up...not sure why i am outta bed yet but it's ok-with only one day for a "weekend" i guess i need to get it moving! hop in the shower soon and get dressed-michael has some errnads for us-so goes my stay at home relax day yet again!i have to be careful what i wish for but i wouldn't mind a major major snow storm any day soon..ya know- the kind where they go to level 3 with no questions asked so i could snuggle inw ith teh dogs and stay home without  guilt!!!we're stocked up on bread and milk and eggs!!!!!

i did some more research last nite about iron--i think that
A) my coffee is depleting any i am building and
B) when i put raisins in my oikos yogurt i am defeating the purpose cuz milk also depletes or counteracts the iron....

so i think the biggest thing i need to do is cut back-again- on my coffee.dang it!!! i knew it!!!!

i'll come back later probly-have a story to tell!
hugs and prayers...

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

What an adventure this WLS life is huh? Does it matter if it's decaf of "high octane?"  I'm curious. I don't drink much coffee and it's decaf. I know that regular coffee is a diuretic right? So how about decaf? Inquiring minds want to know. . . and my memory is very short so I'm sure this has probably been posted but I can't remember!

karen..ya know...the articles i read didn't specify but my guess is gonna be the high octane  that is the culprit-and probly in part because it does work as a diuretic....

this iron biz is important to me with the plasma donation -and i do feel better since i have been working on keeping my levels up but i was soooo frustrated to learn that as hard as i'm working i was also sabotaging self!!!! between the coffee and the milk..........

Good Morning Dear Friends,

I have been awake for over 2 hours, restless all night, so now trying to make some sense and order out of my office desk.  Yesterday was the first day where my cough seems to be under control.  I took the 12 hour Mucinex, that seemed to work better than the every 4 hour one. Hopefully this cough will soon be behind me.  It is 4* here so another cold day, although they are showing the possibility of snow or flurries here.  I have lots of things to do here at home so I won't mind staying in.

I had planned to stay in yesterday but our daughter called yesterday morning saying they had house guests. Apparently Mickey & Minnie Mouse came for a visit.  She and the girls were freaking out.  So Nana & Papa went to check it out.  Didn't see the guests but saw evidence they have been visiting and probably for awhile.  So we helped clean out the pantry/utility room and kitchen.  Convinced Jen & the girls that they don''t have rats!!!  just probably some field mice looking for a warm place and a meal...Oy!!   Samantha kept saying "I don't like Rats or Mice.."  Cheyanne decided no more sleeping on the floor anymore.  Reminded the girls not to leave food lying around, although usually their dog eats anything he can get!!. We threw out anything questionable, seems they like Fruit Loops and Pop Tarts....so out the cereals and pop tarts went,  Most of the rest that wasn't already in containers or cans looked fine, no sign of nibblers.. Jen washed all the other stuff that she stores in the pantry and put all the extra baking pans and containers in Rubbermaid tubs. Laundry was all caught up so nothing there at least.  Earl put some bait boxes in the pantry and under the sink, and in the attic but we didn't see any nests or anything just trails of where they have been.  They maybe are outside by now although with the cold weather that is when they look for a warm place.

Well I hope you all are warm wherever you are....if you can send some heat our way!!  I am tired of  being cold.

Hugs, Paulette

Good Morning Nancy and OFF Peeps,

At +27 I kind of feel like we're having a heat wave compared to much of the country. We did get about an inch of snow yesterday, but not bad enough to slow us down. I spent most of the day at home emptying and sorting Mom's many albums of pictures. My brother and sis in law are helping with that project. The last weekend in May we are having a "Picture sorting/give away party" here at my house. All of Mom's grandkids are invited and we should have a wonderful, nostalgic weekend looking at pictures from the mid 1930s to 2006. My one nephew is looking at scanning programs. We hope to scan the old pictures that everyone would like to have and pud them on a disc for each person to have. That way they have them to look at or can print from them too.

Don't remember if I mentioned this or not. If I did, sorry for the repeat. Our little Clara is in the hospital with pneumonia and bronchial tube inflammation.  Both babies were sick last week. Hannah got over it quickly and is back to her usual busy little self. Erin called on Friday just "not feeling right." She took Clara to the doctor. She was lethargic, sleeping a LOT during the day, not eating, running a low grade fever. As a precaution the doctor admitted her Friday evening and she is still there. They have her on IV fluids and oxygen which she hates. Erin is staying right with her. Erin sounds ok, but she's good at hiding her feelings. I know how scary it is when a child is sick. Please keep our little "Clare Bear" in your thoughts. I'm sure she'll be fine but how special she is to us. They have been incredibly healthy since birth so I guess this is just a reminder.

Bundle up, snuggle up, try to get cozy on this cold January day. February arrives in a week! Yeah! That is always a sign to me that there is hope that spring will come again. We usually have some pretty nice days in February before the March wind**** Take care.

Good Sunday morning Nancy and everyone!

Whew, this stomach flu is doing me in.  No more bouts but just feel soooo tired, no energy, don't feel like eating and when I do eat, it is not that much.  But then I think that is good because maybe my pouch is back working like it should.  It is just nothing tastes good. I am trying to drink some protein drink this morning, because I know I haven't been getting enough protein. It almost feels like when I first had the surgery and you know how you had to get your taste buds back.
I got out a little yesterday and tried to do some shopping.  Didn't last very long, came home and finished a book and just laid around and watched TV. OH, the life.
It is cold here also.  Suppose to have snow flurries the next few days. Not sure what that means, sometimes snow flurries turns into inches.
Paulette, I understand the Mickey and Minnie situation. My daugher and her husband fight them all the time and they have tried everything, those little bugers just won't leave. They live in a small town but live close to some open field.  She gets real embarrassed when you open a drawer and find evidence.  And then her dog brings trophies to her also.
Well better get off here.  Need to think about getting ready for church.
Take care,
Mickey

Hi Mickey,

We live close to forests and parks and farms nearby, so mice can be a problem here. This year it seems like everyone has had some at least one time.  I think becausesour weather has been all over the place, very cold one week then warmer and snowy the next...  Thank goodness her dog hasn't brought any trophies, I think I'd lose it then! LOL!  As for me, your'e the only Mickey I'd like to come visit us!

Hugs, Paulette
