What we are eating and what's eating Us -SATURDAY!
Please forgive me, everyone, for posting so early tonight. But I was rudely awakened this (Friday) morning at 6 am and Im NOT a morning person. A certain almost angelic-looking LilyRose has learned how to open closed doors and got into our bedroom at 5 am and pounced from the floor right onto my back. Then she sat for ten minutes on my head and JB came, took her away and closed the door but she was back...he came back for her and I could NOT get back to sleep then.
So I finally gave up and showered and dressed, spent my morning doing mandalas and laundry, paying mother's bills (including the $45.00 for her December ambulance ride). I went to my hypnosis & Healing Sessions in the Falls and then visited Mother with lots of reading material and I also took her a beautiful red Amaryllis bulb to plant.
She hates all the cold and snow and we've experienced a very unusually cold and snowy season so far this winter and I remember how much she enjoys watching the bulb grown and bloom..it takes her mind off the winter and helps her look forward to each day to see its progress.
I went to Bulk Barn and stocked up on dried beans.(five variety mixture), nuts, seeds and more supplements. My plans are to make a big batch of chilli and a big pot of chicken/barley/veggie soup as well. I'll take six containers of soup for Mom too..she loves my home made soup. I freeze them and she likes a hot bowl of my thick soup at night before she goes to bed. Hot thick soup is not only nourishing but satisfying. I use alot of LEAN ground meat(beef, chicken, turkey) and, of course, dried beans and veggies and pearl barley. It's full of fibre and protein, which means it not only tastes great, it also is an excellent source of nutrients for the WLS person and reduces head hunger.
I also have two new books from Mother to read plus a dozen or so magazines...Reader's Digest and such. I'm in the middle of Eckhart Tolle's "A New Earth" and "Silence Speaks". So I'm all set to hibernate at home as the temps drop again....brrr!
How do you handle weekends with a more casual format of eating?
This is what Rufus will get on Saturday:
B Matrix Hot Chocolate protein drink
S crackers and cheese
L homemade chicken soup
S crackers and cheese
D home made chilli
S a tangello and/or a small banana(during the evening)
So that's MY story and Im sticking to it!

Like you, I woke up early today (5:37 am!) because of a pet...I heard one of our puppies crying...and couldn't get back to sleep.
I'm going grocery shopping later this morning. Later, I might work on the scrapbook I'm making (devoted to my mom), and other than that: read, play with the puppies, walk the dogs.

L: chicken, spinach w/ pine nuts & raisins
