What we are eating and what's eating Us - FRIDAY!

Hello, family!

Another darned dark and cold winter day here...Im looking forward to lilacs blooming and daffodils and popping outside for something without having to pull on my heavy boots and woolies. It's been so cold here for so long..and every night now, the wind machines are running to keep the air moving in an attempt to prevent the fruit trees and grape vines from freezing solid and dying.

I came downstairs this morning to find a veritable maze of my expensive fancy baby wool, woven in and out, and under legs and over chairs, from living room, kitchen and dining room. The culpret is LilyRose, she cannot resist a ball of wool.  Even tho I'd hidden the balls under a crochet project I'd been working on, she got into my crochet bag and dug out every ball of expensive wool...of course, she ignored the old cheap stuff...just quality wool will do for LilyRose!

This kitten is a kleptomaniac..she steals things.. balls of wool, pencils, clothes pins, a silk rose out of a basket arrangement, a nail file, pens, even a small datebook....what am I to do with her??

And, beleive this or not, LilyRose plays "catch"...JB tosses a tiny toy alligator and she takes off like a dog and finds it, then carries it in her mouth and trots back to lay it at his feet.  I've seen her do this twelve times in a row!  What a strange cat!!

Today will be busy with my mandala colouring books, it seems that the printer's machine does not like the mandalas with a solid black background and wants me to rebuild those on a white background.  However, being the artist that I am, I am very protective of my mandalas , so I will take all of my mandals with BLACK backgrounds and get them specially printed elsewhere and insert them into the books myself.  That's extra money and alot more handling but I prefer to use the mandalas as I originally chose for each quotation to protect the integrity of the flow of my books.

On such a focused day, I struggle to remember to eat since I do not feel hunger anymore so I will write out my day's menu plan and tape it to my monitor where Im working to keep me reminded.  This is what Rufus gets today:

B  Matrix hot chocolate protein drink

S cheese & 3 crackers

L homemade high protein beef & bean soup

S fresh fruit

D salad w/diced chicken, assorted nuts, raisins, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, shredded carrots and cucumber & light poppyseed salad dressing

S crackers and cheese

WHAT'S YOURS??

Good morning to you, Nancy and also to Rufus. It sounds like Rufus is having some very good things to satisfy him today. I am hoping that Harpo likes everything that is going to be coming his way as well.

Misty is a lot like LilyRose. She hides things all the time too. She will play with her toys for a few minutes and then low and behold she takes them to her secret hiding places and they are forever gone most of the time. Rarely, but on occasion she will bring one out for a bit. It is almost like she is letting us know that they are still here and she hasn't forgotten them. Misty is very much one that likes to jump around, but now that she is getting older that isn't happening as much either. She use to love to have her toy on a stick flipped through the air and she would do flips in the air after it. That use to be her favorite toy. That is until we spent a lot more money one year for Christmas and got her one with several different things to snap on the stick. After we spent the money she stopped wanting to play with it all the time. Seems like a typical girl to me! Most of the time though she likes getting things from either Bill or me from our end tables to play with and most of the time those things disappear also. I could stick her in a bag and shake her up at times. But she is our baby and we just love on her and then she goes to the next thing to get in to.

I am sitting here at 3:30 a.m. and haven't slept this night at all. I laid there in bed listening to Bill snore like a brass band and finally I thought to myself that I was getting a headache from the noise and that I might as well get up and get my OFF fix for the morning. I have been doing that and that is good. I like to get up early (but I do like to sleep during the night as well!)  while things are quiet and still and do my posting on here. It is just my time with myself and all my other family members. Many of whom I have never met but am closer to than some of my blood family.

Harpo is getting some good stuff today if you ask me. My only hope is that he agrees since if he doesn't we both suffer for it.

B: oatmeal and 3T high energy mix (can you tell I love this breakfast?)
S: applesauce
L: meatballs and sauce with cheese
S: orange
D: fish of some kind with veggies
S: sf pudding

I find it better if I eat snacks through the day. That is one of the problems right now. I am so hungry and that is because I didn't eat enough through the day yesterday. I learned that the hard way and I seem bound to keep repeating it. I must learn that and keep the lesson learned.

Have a wonderful day and I am sending love and hugs to you. Prayers and special thoughts are here for you also. Please give LilyRose a little hugs for Misty too, will you please?

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
