What's new Thursday?
Well, I should be in bed asleep, but for some reason, even with all my drugs and painkillers, I can't sleep. I was so tired last night ... I had dinner at Culver's with Nan Horten, her son-in-law and granddaughters in a fundraiser for my cat-sitter's cat rescue, came home and just didn't feel real good. I was tired and cold, so I had some coffee (not decaf, though, maybe that was the problem). My knee was hurting too, so I took a vicodin and it felt like it got stuck. I lay down in bed then to watch TV and I had the hardest time staying awake through Lost, even though I was interested (and confused sometimes ... does that show do it to you, too ... like who was the old lady at the end?) Anyway, after the news and Nightline, I turned off the TV and tried to go to sleep. I must've dozed for awhile but then got up and couldn't get back to sleep. So finally I got up, took my book into the living room and read for awhile. Then I came in here to check on my payroll deposit (a big one today ... it's my 53rd week paycheck bonus, and the bankruptcy court gets nothing, plus I get a regular paycheck that the court takes half of); then I thought I'd start the thread. Knee is kinda hurtin' tonight ... might be PT and overdoing it a bit. Ah well, more PT today, then more overdoing it ... need to go shopping, go into Grand Rapids downtown to get my AchievOne at the health store, might stop in at work and say hi, then I'm meeting my coworker Kim for dinner tonight at Texas Roadhouse. Two meals out in two days (this one will probably have leftovers ... Culver's did not).
I hope I can go to sleep now ... I am sleepy again. It was funny, though ... when I came out into the living room, there was Nettie and Scooter snuggled together on the recliner (this is the one Paulette and Earl gave me). Now, the cats never slept on my old recliner, but for some reason, they just love this one ... maybe it's the smell of Skeeter (Paulette's dog), ya think?
Well, anyway, at least I have some money this week to pay bills. And get a few things that I need. Mostly bills, though. Like the heating bill ... it's well overdue.
Chat away ... talk to ya later.
Eileen, don't know if you saw my post the other day, but we did get Nolan Ryan's autograph. We brought a baseball with us, just on the hope. Mary got the autograph, it was the only one he signed. That one stays on the top shelf. Right next to Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, and Carlos Beltran. And with the ball Tom Glavine passed around the Mets clubhouse for me.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Margo, thanks so much for the nudge to do what I always have intentions to do in the first place.
I have to admit that I have good intentions but sometimes get so side tracked that I forget. I blame it on my disease of CRS! It is so bad that sometimes I forget that I suffer from it. Now that is pretty bad if you ask me.
I think I would like to hire you as my social secretary. You are doing such a good job. The pay is bad tho. You would have to put it on my account on account I have no money! Think the offer over and let me know, dear.
Seriously tho, thanks for the reminder, I really do appreciate it. I will look into that when I get home from taking my neighbor to the doctor.
brenda; i think that julia's post a few weeks back made me think about some of the things and people we take for granted- we may all be thinking of the other folks but we don't always express it...and ppl don't know what's on our minds if we don't verbalize!
for example...brenda- we caught the very last few minutes of i love lucy tonite and i giggled thinking of you-did i ever tell you that lucille ball was a cousin of mine?? like a 6th cousin maybe 6 times removed or 8th cousin or something-sorry i don't have that number handy! but thru my grandmother Ropp (the one in sturgis that Pat R lives near)--and when eileen mentione dthe other day that there were probly a finite number of lucy shows to show(in the marathon) --well- there were 6 years worth-119 shows of just the I Love lucy's-not counting the other spin offs!
anyhow- get your cards out and get em in the mail gf!!!!

Hope you got some rest finally! It's been a while since I've had trouble sleeping, but then again, my commuter lifestyle is pretty exhausting, so lately I've had a lot of meetings . . . with my pillows, seems earlier and earlier, think it's this winter stuff, makes me want to curl up under the covers to be warm, but I'm sure Dillinger doesn't mind, it's our snugglely time. . .
Well I'm off to work in a few moments, but thought I'd drop in quick and say hi.
Hmmm, nice collection of balls you got going George and Margo, you've been real busy. . . perhaps there is a way to scan and copy the picture to make it an avatar, ask Jan S., she would be the computer wizard.
Well I got to get in my car now and drive north.
You all have a wonderful day and as always, if you are facing challenges, the collective good thoughts and prayers of the believers of this board are with you, mine included.
Hugs, Laureen

Hi Eileen and everyone.
Sounds like you are improving, Eileen! I'm glad to hear that. You're getting out and moving around and that has to be a good thing. I'm jealous you have found AchievOne! Good for you..... enjoy it. I miss it and can't wait until it's available again. I'm going to have to try to find a way to store more of it here in my tiny condo so I can order more at one time.
Up for work again today. Woke up early for some reason and didn't read the clock quite right. By the time I figured it out, I was awake. Sleep seems to be an issue lately. Can hardly wait for the weekend once again.
Have a great day everyone.
Kathi
Sipping on my decaf this morning......it's going to be a fairly easy day .....have stripped the bed and letting it air out before I re-make it.....will wash the sheets in a few minutes. Need to call and schedule my mamogram for early Feb. ....have my yearly physical on Feb. 16th.
My driver's license needs to be renewed this year too, Margo....that will be fun.....I'm proud to say I weight at least 100 lbs less than the last one!
Went to see Marley and Me last evening with my cuz'....it was so cute and yeah I shed a few tears at the end.
I am doing pretty good getting back on track...down 2 1/4 lbs so far this week....yeah the old Kemminator pouch still works -- YES.
We are to actually get above freezing today -- 33 deg.
sure hope it melts some of the "stuff" on the sidewalks and streets. They are calling for temps in the teens, however, for the weekend.
Need to get some cards mailed out....thx for the nudge,
Margo.
Hope you all have a safe and happy day,
Pat

Done! Your Ticker:
Not much new here, cold, spose to get back in the single digits this weekend and maybe snow again. Nothing like the last time tho hopefully.
Actually had time at work yesterday where I looked around and had all of my work done! Well, always have something to do but had everything done that HAD to be done...don't think that's happened for a LONG time. I'm sure it won't stay that way.
Man, I am feeling so sleepy, gotta get up to the treadmill and wake up!
Take care all,
Cheryl
Have been able to stay on track this week and the scale is showing it.
