WAY WAY OT: any "paper punchers" out there?
anyone who scrapbooks or makes cards...i have a dilemma...
i bought a huge punch at hobby lobby (which is 40 miles away btw) last nite- this one punch is sposed to cut 3 small things out and when i insert paper and punch it does basically nothing...nada...zippo...it was orig $19.99 marked to $11.99 but on clearance so it is NOT returnable...it wouldn't punch card stock or even printing paper so i am wanting to take it back and speak to a manager if i must- i think it had been returned once already...i've done enough retail to understand return policies and that it is not returnable when clearance -however-it doesn't work............
so my question is this: am i doing something wrong that it is not cutting the paper????????????????
thanx for reading.....

Hi Margo,
I have a couple of punches --- one is a leaf & the other is a silouette of Mickey Mouse. Both work well. I put them on a solid surface (kitchen counter), insert the paper & press firmly with the palm of my hand. No problems at all. I only do one piece of paper at a time. Don't know if this is the same as what you have. It's so simple, I don't see how yours could be "defective" unless what you have is different than mine. Hmmmmm..... Sorry, this might not be any help at all.

I use to work for Hobby Lobby. I don't think there was a rule you can't take clearance back. We took everything but the kitchen sink back. And I do believe someone would try that.
We even had someone bring back Christmas lights that smelled like cat pee. They had to have been in the garage forever. And of course I was working customer service. I didn't notice until I refunded the money, that the boxes smelled so bad.
Now it might be different where you live. And they may have changed the rules, it has been about 3 years since I worked there. Give them a call first and see what they say. I imagine you are right that they were returned before and they probably just stuck them back out there and put them in clearance. We use to have 6 to 8 carts of returns to put back out at night.
Call them and explain they aren't working, then return them when you are going that way again. Ask for the manager, don't just talk to anybody.
Take care,
Mickey
