Maui tutu in Calif.....brrrrrrrrr!!

Aloha my OFF friends.........It seems like ages since I've been in here. Life is a whirlwind right now of babies, toddlers, breakfast, lunch, dinner, diapers, snugs, hugs, screaming matches (the kids not me) and exhaustion.

My son and DIL are in Switzerland skiing and having a good time, and it is hard to contact them so when I have problems I'm on my own. However, this morning when I went to take baby "Z" to daycare.....my son's Pilot would not start....and thankfully I got ahold of him in Switzerland on my cell phone! Would you believe I jump started the Pilot from another car?? Had a little help...Ha! A wonderful woman named Mimi was here with me for the weekend, and she was a godsend. She has had all three babies in her care since they were born, so they know her and she knows them. Now, she has gone and I"m on my own!

My grandchildren are delightful, busy and full of energy. It is a never ending round of something needing to be done. Right now they are watching Noggin, a TV channel like day school...and I"m taking a break.

I am afraid I'm not taking very good care of myself....forgetting to eat entirely for long periods and then grabbing a bagel or a Zone bar.

Thankfully the weather here in Calif. has been beautiful during the day, and cold at night. I did get a cold.....no surprise there, and the baby has one as well. He is 8 months old and the best little baby you could ask for......never cried except when hungry, tired or needing diaper change. Laughter comes easily to him......and I do my best to get him in hysterics!

This is probably boring tutu chatter....but hey,. I don't get to see my grands very often, so I had to share with you....my everyday family.

Time to go and get kids dressed.

Hope all is good with everyone. I don't have time to even read to catch up.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen (in Santa Cruz, California!)

Aloha and thanks for the perspective about COLD! COming from Hawaii, almost anywhere is cold to me, but this certainly is not in the teens like some of you are having. I don't think I'd survive.

I had my panniculectomy almost 7 weeks ago now, and my belly is flat as a pancake! I wear a long body shaper during the day (I forgot to put in on this morning...yikes), but my incision scar is very neat and straight. My doc says it will change from the red it is now to faded white as the months pass. I could not be more pleased with how it turned out. I am very thankful for no complications.

I am so glad to hear you are doing well following your PS. WOW! Has it been that long already???

I am sure that CA is cold for you! I had to chuckle when we went to Alaska (cruise) May 10 2006. I met several Californians and they were freezing! LOL Being from Ohio well it was like Spring for us (40s-65) some snow and sleet. I was always up on deck enjoying the awesome scenery!

Our winter is kind of rough this year but we usually have this stuff (below zero) a few days every winter. Since I have lost 140 pounds though, I am really suffering! YIKES! I have to move south!!!

Have fun with the little ones and have a safe trip back to PARADISE@

Aloha Nan.....If anyone knows about kids, it's you!! I wish I could just calm myself down and not stress about every little thing. I know that would happen if I were around them more........I'd get with the flow of things.

I will enjoy my time with my little ones....and am taking tons of pictures.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Dear Karen,
That was not boring at all. EAT - or you won't have enough energy for the grands. Sending them some loving from Auntie Annette - some included for you as well.

Aloha darling Annette.........You always make me feel good. You KNOW about grands and the fun and challenges. I wanted to say, if I hadn't before, how sorry I was about Joey. Have you cried out all your tears so that you can just be filled with happy memories? I hope so.

My two furry kids are probably mad at me for leaving them with strangers. Word has it that Poki comes out to eat and poop, but then heads under the bed again. Nicki is surprising me by being the friendly one.....big brave boy!!

I'm feeling the love...thank you my dear heart!

Aloha nui loa,

 Aloha  Karen,

Ummmm   there is no such thing as boring tutu chatter....  we love it all.  Kids are what keeps us going at these times in our life. With everything else going on around us only the innocence of a baby, toddler or child can make sense of it.

enjoy yourself...   I'm headed to my son's place to get some 3yr wisdom...lol
