Dear friends,

I want to thank you all so much for your prayers and get well wishes for Earl & I.  The messages have meant so much.  I think we both finally are on the road to recovery.  Earl is still struggling with swelling and pain issues but it is better day by day.  Friday he saw the surgeon, they had to remove the cast and bandages as they were too tight and causing way too much swelling. The good news was the incision was dry and clean, no sign of infection. He still is on antibiotics for another 5 days.  He sees the surgeon on Wed to get the stitches removed and starts therapy on Thursday.

I haven't been around much but wanted you all to know how much I miss "chatting" to you daily.  Since August our life has been turned upside down and we are so involved in all the busyness that comes hand in hand with our granddaughters and the divorce our daughter is going through.  I also am struggling with sticking to my program and continuing to lose weight.   The added stress has not helped but I realize that so many things have gotten off track over the past few months.  Luckily I am still within 5 pounds of my lowest weight since starting my weight loss program.  I was 244 this am. I'm posting this to make myself be accountable to getting back on track.

It is very easy to get caught up in all the busyness of life and lose focus.  Even though this is near the end of the day, I am starting fresh as of this moment.  And plan to work harder and more consistently with this life course of losing weight and getting healthy.

So please keep me in your prayers as I will pray for each of you.
Big Hugs, Paulette

Paulette;

Glad that Earl's recovery is going well.

Please take some time for yourself, in all your responsibilities.  You can do it!

Paulette, I am so glad that Earl is doing so much better. It is hard when someone we love is having problems and so I know that it hasn't been easy. I am glad that he is doing so well since his surgery.

How is your bad cold doing? I haven't heard from you how it is doing. I might have missed it~you know me~I can't remember from one minute to the other either. Such is getting "old" I guess. I know that you were really pretty sick yourself so make sure you take care of our sister Paulette too.

I know how it is with life in general. Things sometimes get so out of our control and then our life becomes someone else's life too. It is hard on us when that happens. I hope that everything is going better with DD and DGD's too. I know that they depend on you a lot.

You will do fine getting back on track. You don' t need to worry about that. You are a strong woman~you know what needs to be done and you do it. Just get back on the horse and get going again. I know though that sometimes that is easier said than done. I have problems too with getting off course and I am there right now.

I have you all in my prayers and know that you will do just fine. Sometimes it just takes some time. I am sending you love and hugs and know that if you need me for anything~even to just talk~I am here for you.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Dear Brenda,

You know you have a special place in my heart.  Your words always inspire me.

I am still coughing but less each day, at least now I don't need to do my nebulizer twice a day.  The infection is gone so now it's just the rest of the congestion needs to clear out.  I have to call the doctor Thursday if I am still coughing, maybe another chest xray....

Earl made oatmeal for us this am and I put protein powder in my coffee.  So I feel I am off to a great start food wise today.  We are going to Panera for lunch while we are running errands today.  We'll have soup and split a sandwich, I plan to leave off the bread on my half and just eat the turkey.

Jen & the girls are doing good.  She has realized that I am no longer her cleaning  & laundry lady, that those parts are her responsibility.  Just taking care of the grands now and I ignore the rest if need be.  We were there the other day and her house had been all cleaned up and laundry done and put away. LOL!!.

I've been meaning to call you...it's just been so crazy. Seems to be settling down again now though.

Love & Hugs, Paulette

Hey, I am kinda planning a getogether up here sometime this summer. Very informal & relaxing. Just sit by the pool,
ride the Quads or a trip into Traverse City for anyone interested. Marc (DH) will do the cooking so the only cost will be gas to get here. Haven't decided on a date yet. The kids are moving out soon so we have 2 empty bedrooms
& lots of floor space for air mattresses. We are secluded
so we can do whatever we want! I sure hope you can come up. Earl too. We can the guys fishing if we want. The Manistee is just down the road. Take care, we all need it.
