Nuclear Scan

Well, tomorrow I have my periodic nuclear heart scan. The cardiologist does one every two or three years since I had cardiac bypass surgery.  That was 15 years ago. If they suspect from the scan that arteries are becoming clogged again they will do a heart catherazation to be sure. I'm not sure how long those bypasses are supposed to last.  I have no symptoms that any arteries are clogged so that's a good sign.  No pain, no shortness of  breath. So we shall see tomorrow what's going on with that little ticker of mine. Hate doing things like this on my day off from work.

I had to have both of those done last year before I could get approved for WLS. Best wishes!

Thanks Susan... I'm just irritated that it will take up half my day off.  But it is necessary and I will be glad when it's done.

I'll be thinking of you Barbara as you get your tests done.  I hope things will turn out just great!

Hello Barbara!

Wishing you well on your tests tomorrow! I had not heard of a nuclear heart scan. I thought I knew about all of the heart tests as my husband has had a defibrillator since 8/2000! He can now send in his scans of the last 6 mo. of heart activity by phone! Something new all the time.

It does not sound like you are in any kind of cardiac distress so I will look for your good news on this board.

Thank you all for your support.  I'm out the door in about 5 minutes.  The nuclear scan is sort of like a pet scan where any blockages will show up in bright colors. This is also called a Thallium scan.  I just know it takes about 3 hours with a lot of waiting in between the various tests.  I probably won't have any results until I see my doctor on the 27th.  Have a good day everyone.

Ask your cardiologist about vit D3 and vit K2. Both are beneficial to heart issues. But he has to have read it himself to believe it.

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
