Well it is a chilly whats new this morning! BRRRR!  I woke up cold, NOPE, furnace is working just fine, but I was freeaing, so got up, cranked the heat up and just made a cup of tea.  Have to wait for it to cool down a bit.
thought I was getting an abscess on the roof of my mouth, went to dentist yesterday, just not feeling good also come to find out I have shingles on the roof of my mouth!  ICK!  taking an antiviral med 5 x /day now, hoping that will help,  Work is up in the air right now as I just haven't been feeling "good" for several days.  Not really sick, just blah.
That's about it with me.  so, how are you?  I may pop back on later.....chat quietly please!  LOL

oh Debbie! shingles? how painful! *gentle hugs* I do hope that you get rid of those nasty things fast.

Im fighting strep throat..what fun too! Ive stayed home from everything this week and sleep alot.  I'm told there's alot of strep going around here...I dont get sick often but when I do, I do a good job *s*

It's down right nasty cold here...we are supposed to get minus 30 degrees celcius! But my philosophy is, if it's PAST January 1st, it's almost Spring!           (well, it's a MIND thing...you have to think POSITIVE!)  Im headed back to bed again. Take care of yourself, roomie!

I'm with you on the spring thing. After all, the days have been getting LONGER since the last of December! I can tell in the afternoons, but the early am is still way too dark. I just live for February 1. That's kind of my (winter's over!) marker around here. We had our nasty weather before and during Christmas, but not so cold like you all are having.

A collective BRRRRRRR! from me to you. Stay warm and get better. Whenever I had a sore throat of anytime Mom would make me ice chips, salt them, and I'd suck on them. Seems like it helped every time. A home "saline" remedy. I can still see her getting out an old towel, putting the ice cubes in (after she ran water over the tray and cracked them out of the metal tray!), wrapping them up and then taking the hammer to them to make my "chips." How spoiled I am. My new fridge does all but provide Mother's love with them!

Good Morning Debbie & OFFr's,

Sorry to hear you have shingles, I never realized you could get them in your mouth, you poor dear, hope your medicine kicks them the heck out of there!

Speak of freezing, woke up this morning and the house was like an icebox, usually my heater kicks on several times during the night if the temps dip below 65 in the house, at the very least it is scheduled to go on at 5 a.m., 15 minutes before I now have to get out of bed, so I got up and was like, what the heck is going on here. . . the temp on the thermostat read 59, after running down to the basement to see if the heater was on, I hit the override button and on it went, thankfully it appears to be working now that I hit that button, but the temps are still a bit too cool to take my shower, maybe in the next 10 minutes or so, brrrrrr is right on.  Seems we are having a good old fashioned kind of winter down here, with consistently cold temps, unlike the last several years where we would get a cold snap for a few days and then it would warm up to 40s and sometimes higher, never allowing our bodies to really get used to the cold, so while I'm not happy to be freezing, at least it's an actual winter, but I still would like to see some of that white stuff and I'm sure some of you one here would love for it to be anywhere but where you are ;)

Anyway, I just figured I'd drop by since I had to wait out the heating of my home, think I'd better get busy or I'll be on the later train to work.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and if you are facing challenges, please know you are always in my positive thoughts and prayers.

Hugs, Laureen

I hate shingles and they are so painful.  I had them in October after having been on immune suppressents for my asthma.  Hope it clears up quickly.

On Tuesday night, I'm at the university until 9 in the evening and my office sits in a building which sits on a hill and the wind blows and it was so cold that I drank me some hot tea when I got home.  Brrr is right.  It is cold here this morning too but is supposed to get in the forties later today.  My kitty did not want me to sleep and now she doesn't want me to type.  She gets all antsy when I start getting ready for work.  Today, though, is a shorter day and she won't be alone all day  and most of the night.  Girl, warm up, take your meds, and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Good morning Debbie and all.

It is a good day.  I feel better since the doc visit yesterday, but will feel better when all of them are done.  I still have PCP on 1/19, WLS surgeon on 1/30 and endocronologist on 2/4.  This keeps up, everything after February will be free for me.

Mary took Flyte (greyhound) to have his drain removed.  He is doing just fine.  Next week or so he gets his stitches out.  It is so nice to see his tail wagging again.

Started working on my fantasy baseball stuff last night.  I can smell baseball in the air.

Have a good day.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Ouchies Debbie. That must ache to have shingles in your mouth. Feel better.

The furnace man came yesterday to take more pictures and measurements. Work begins next week and we will have a new EFFICIENT furnace.

He wanted to complete a 'blow test' which meant opening the basement door. I had to corral the cats and lock them in a room so they wouldn't escape.   What fun herding cats. I gathered all but one. ANNIE hid very well.

I fooled her though. Walked in the kitchen, popped open a can of food, she came RUNNING. Gottcha little furbrat.

Good morning all.

"Happy Birthday to me"  I am now officially 56.

Had a rough night last night but got a few hours of sleep.  Have already been on the tread mill for my 30 minutes.

Car is acting up so taking it to the shop today.

Taking the day off as worked a 13 hour day yesterday (it was SUPPOSED) to be my day off.

If I just have time to read my library book and take a nap I will be happy.

Have a good one.
