Asking for your opinion!

My daughter is joining Weigh****chers and has asked me to join with her. She was my biggest supporter when I had my WLS just over 4 years ago. I want to be there for her and know that I would benefit from it but I am struggling with the thought of being on another DIET. What do you think?

I know what you mean about "another diet"  I think if my daughter (age 27) asked me to do that I probably would just because she really needs to do something and if I could encourage and support her in her battle with weight it would make it worthwhile.

But that is just what I would do.  You have to do what you are comfortable with.

Thank you for the reply. We had a talk tonight and she knows I support her wether I join or not.

Keeping the lines of communication open and letting her know you are there for her is the real important part of this.  Whether you are physically at the meetings or not doesn't really matter.  She needs to do this for herself anyway.

I still do some of the Weigh****cher things that I used while doing that. In fact I still use a lot of the recipes from there too. I think of WW as a eating plan and not a diet. If you feel like it is something that might help her and you feel comfortable doing it I say go for it.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

I'm not a WW fan.  If you need the support, then go.  Otherwise, tell daughter to put on her big girl panties and go and you'll support her.  We stayed obese for years because we depended on other people and when they didn't want to participate, we gave up to. Those that have success do it on their own and make their own commitment.
Just my opinion.

Thank You for your opinion. I think I will refrain from telling her to put her big girl panties on. She never would have said that to me!

My opinion is that you should join with her. WW is another way of making lifestyle changes. Don't look at it as a diet. With the support and recipes and stuff I think it is a positive thing.

Remember, Lifestyle Changes not Diet.

You are right. It is not another diet. It is a lifestyle change just like WLS.
