All by myself, don't want to be all by myself...

My sweetie is leaving in the morning to go deer hunting until Friday.  I really hate being alone, especially at night in this big old house.  Plus, I'll have to remember to put the garbage can to the curb, make sure the doors are locked, get up in the morning to turn on the bathroom heater... (Yes, I'm spoiled, he gets up and turns on the bathroom heater for me so I don't have to on these COLD mornings - he's so sweet!)  Hey, he's spoiled too!  BUT, I know he deserves this outing.  He encouraged me to go to London and leave him at home to install a new kitchen floor, which looks great.  OK sistas, I'll put on my big girl panties, kiss him good bye before I leave for work, give him one of my biggest smiles, hold back the tears, and tell him to have fun.  I miss him already!

Thanks for listening, Debbie

aw, sweety! I'd invite you up here to "winterland" to see what a  real winter is, but I have strep throat and trust me, you do NOT want my germs!

This week, we are supposed to get minus 30 degree celcius ...I'm hibernating!  My younger son Derek is out there in the dark somewhere spreading salt on his plaza contracts so people dont slip and fall. But I made sure that he was prepared with a thermos of hot choclate and some protein bars to munch on while he works.

He has lost 27 pounds this winter so far...now he needs smaller jeans. Alot of the weightloss was from stress at Christmas when he had so many equipment breakdowns and employee illnesses. But, touch wood (taps my head), everything is going well now.

If you're lonely, add me to your YAHOO List ...I'm ellenzid,  and we can chat. *hugs*

Thanks Nancy, but I'll pass on the offer to visit you and your germs!  One night of the cold temp up there would probably kill me.  So what does -30 C convert to in F?

I'm happy to hear Derek's business is doing better.  Stress is not a fun way to lose weight.

Think I'll use my alone time wisely and organize the pantry.  George had to take lots of the "stuff" out to put in the new flooring.  OR I could catch up on sleep.  Lunestra allows me a good 4 - 5 hours with only one or two wakeups and rollovers!

Annette - big girl panties on and up to the challenge (I think).  George suggested I call our older son and ask him to come sleep over.  I hate to impose on him.  He just moved into his new apartment this past weekend.  He's close enough if I need him.

Debbie,

I gripe about my husband always being here but, like you, would hate to have him go off for the night.  He does the garbage and carries the groceries, and brings the hamper out of the bathroom for me.  Plus, he always makes sure that I am covered.  I still have those hot flashes from time to time and I'll throw off the covers and after the hot flash, I begin to chill but am too lazy to find the covers.  He, though, feels me moving around and covers me up and snuggles close to keep me warm.  Sounds like you have a keeper too.  We are lucky women.

Yes Jeannie, we are lucky indeed.  While I was in London George ordered me a Snuggie - one of those blanket things with sleeves.  He always tells me to use one of our many afghans to cover when I'm watching TV or crocheting or doing sudoko puzzles, my answer, "but I can't cover and use my hands".  He saw it advertised and promptly ordered one (actually it was buy one get one, so there are two coming soon.  Takes 2 - 6 weeks for delivery.  They'll probably come when the temp hits 80 again!

Oh, Debbie, I feel for you. I would come and turn on your bathroom heater for you if I lived close enough. I really would since your weather has to be warmer than ours. ha ha I would huddle in your bathroom or maybe I would just bring it home with me! Hey that is a good idea!

Remember we are here for you while your little sweetie is gone. I am sending love and hugs to you.

Thanks Brenda!  I'm not use to this COLD weather.  We had a high of 80 degrees Sat.  This morning it was 36, tomorrow, then Friday are supposed to be colder.  My sweetheart wrapped the pipes and did preparations just in case it freezes.
Too bad I didn't think ahead and invite someone to come over for a Par-tay.  In the past, when George and our son went on hunts for more than one night, my former DIL would stay over (This was pre-Ethan.  She even stayed with me before she and Danny were married).  We did it up BIG, saw a couple of movies, went out to eat for three meals a day or ordered delivery and sat around in our jammies watching TV and talking.  I kinda miss those days with her.
