What's New Monday?
I have to go into the church office this morning and talk with the Pastor about some committees and things that someone sent to me in an e-mail. I got it figured out yesterday after putting it off for a few days. Oh well, at least it is done.
I pick my sister up at 12:15 to go to my DBIL's cousins funeral. My BIL has been gone now for almost 12 years and they were very good friends as well as cousins. We all have known each other our whole lives since we were all raised as family. My mom stood up for my BIL's parents at their wedding. It is one of those situations. I hate funerals but I just felt like I should go.
DS and I are going for a late lunch after the church service and then I am coming home and doing stuff around here. I miss my home when I am gone. I know that sounds kind of crazy but I do. I am just a homebody now a days. I never was before but the older I get the more comfortable I am at home than anywhere else. It seems like no matter where I am home is always the place I want to be. If you would have told me that I would feel like that when I was younger I would have told you all that you were nuts.
I guess I had better get to moving. I have to get my shower and dressed. I would have just worn jeans if going for the meeting and such but now I have to "dress" for a funeral. I would rather have the jeans and shirt instead. I am sending love and hugs to all along with prayers if you want them and good thoughts if you prefer them. Have a wonderful day and smile. It uses more muscles than frowning. So.....it must be good exercise!
We took Christmas down and the great room looks empty....that was ONE BIG tree. Kids painted ornaments last night from various kits they received. They are out drying on the dinning room table.
We need to get to the RV park and retreive our summer clothes and bathing suits. That will be a good hike, also hoping no mice are living there. We put enough bay leaves and dryer sheets in all closets, cabinets inside and out.
Dislocated my right knee in bed yesterday morning just rolling over. Hurt pretty bad once it snapped back in.
Got a message from sweet Margo and she sounded OK, she got some SNOW and Cold temps.
Hope you all have a good Monday. Oh I enjoyed "24" and looking forward to tonights 2 episodes.

Hi Judy....as for the hair...I totally understand. My hair is so fine and thin too. It is hard to let it grow out but now I am glad I did. I like it long for a change. You would look good with longer hair too. Good luck with the hair cut. We want pics please!
Lover ya sweetie...hugs....connie d
I hate it when the corners of the sheets come off. It seems that even when the sheets have deep enough pockets my tossing all night makes them come off. I tried the garter type elastic to put on the corners but that didn't work well. Sooooo.....I cut them in half, sewed them to some belting the length of the width of the bed and placed one across the top of the bed, one across the middle and one across the bottom of the bed. Thought I was awful smart and creative. Worked too. A few months later I walked into Bed, Bath and Beyond and they had an identical product. Higher quality of course. All elastic and heavy duty. Too bad I didn't think of it earlier and patent he dang things.
Well, it's almost 10:00 and I'm still in jammies. Not much going on today to warrent getting dressed, but I will. Cleaning out the file cabinet and sorting through tax stuff is no reason to get dressed IMHO. Now, getting warm is, so a nice hot shower and sweats will be happening soon. I do need to go to the store for cottage cheese and a few other things. I'm thinking about a big pot of taco soup for dinner. The leftovers will last us for a week of lunches.
Yesterday we got all of the gift bags for the Miss America pageant together. Yippee.....a week early! Gary took a nice picture of it, but for fear of looking like I'm trying to sell something I won't post it. But, if you'd like to see it, I'd be happy to e-mail it to you.
Being around the house today will pose "grazing" challenges. In the effort to get in the calories I need I find myself grabbing random things and popping them in my mouth. No, one or two crackers aren't a serving so they don't need to be tracked on Fitday, right? Well, that's been my theory and I'm NOT going to stick to it. Gotta just get rid of the stuff and be done with it.
So....that's my tale. Nothing great, but it is what it is. Oh yeah, our Chargers lost yesterday so football season is over for us.
Hugs and good wishes to all!
Susan
I'm kinda blue today and feeling out of it. First, I didn't sleep well last night ... the pain kept me up. I was feeling pretty good most of the day until later in the day, after I had done my PT exercises. Then I started to hurt. When I went into bed, the knee started acting up. I took a vicodin before I went to sleep and thought I was fine ... went to sleep right away. But then I got up just before 2 a.m. in a lot of pain. I took another vicodin and grabbed an ice pack and read for awhile. The problem with reading, though, was my book is so interesting (World Without End, by Ken Follett, the followup to Pillars of the Earth) that when I started to get sleepy, I didn't want to put the book down. But I couldn't focus anymore, so I had to.
The depressed mood is about my cat, Diva ... read the separate post. I'll miss her, but I know she's got a good home. Anyone who wants to read about the good work Jeanine does with her shelter can go to http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/MI420.html.
Physical therapist has been here already today. We went out into the garage so she could see I could do steps ... I have been going in and out of the garage for some time now. Then I went into the car to see how I could move my foot from the gas pedal to the brake. It went well, so I'm going to try to drive to the mailbox a couple of times this week for practice.
It's cold out there today (do the words "arctic blast" chill you?) but not snowing at least. I need to find outpatient PT today so I can set up appointments for next week. I have one more home appointment this week and then I'll do my PT on my own for the rest of the week. Hope to be driving by Thursday to the store and the chiropractor. Can't wait to get out of the house ... no big trips, but it will be nice to be independent again.
Well, I need to shower and get warmed up. I've been sitting here drinking coffee (oh, did I tell you my favorite Starbucks coffee is back? Casi Cielo ... bought a pound of it last week ... I'll have to stock up!)
Anyway, have a good day. Stay warm.
Like I told Linda S.....it is another manic Monday!!
It has been snowing all day and it sounds like we will be getting quite a bit more before it is all over. The frigid temps are what is getting to me...bbbrrrrrrrr!!
The roofs of the garages all look so smooth with snow....I would love to get on them and make snow angels!!! Best not...I don't want broken bones!!
Other then work not much else happening with me. I don't have any clients to meet with out in the community. I have the benefit of staying in and doing my job today. I am ever thankful for that!!
Where is Margo?? I haven't seen her lately. I am concerned.
Keep warm all you people in these cold and snowy states!!
Prayers to those in need.
Love and hugs to all.....connie d
I am just getting to this thread at 7PM.
It has been a pretty good day. Worked at the office this morning. I got my Statistical Table I done this morning (deadline is Thursday) and so I am very glad about that.
Our septic system backed up. It turns out is not our system but the TOWN SYSTEM that has a problem. They had workers out trying to fix it today so hopefully that will take care of it.
I took time to get in a nap this afternoon. The weekend was too too busy and I am worn out. I will probably be in bed at 9PM.
Hope you are warm where you are this evening, the frigid temperatures outside will be with us for awhile.
