What's New Monday?
Greetings everyone. It's almost 12:30 a.m. PST Monday morning and so, before I go to bed, I thought I'd start the what's new thread for today.
I hope everyone had a good weekend. It's hard to believe it's January 12 already. Isn't it? Time sure seems to move faster the older I get.
Chat amongst yourselves. Have a great Monday.

I had a very busy weekend and all I can say is I cannot wait for this addition/remodeling job to be over, it is at the stressful stage and tied in with me going back to work 5-days a week now, I had no time for all my normal activities this past weekend and even though I have a 4-day weekend coming up, I have it crammed with stuff to do, I'm definitely about ready for a nice getaway where I can just relax and do nothing! However, I know when it is done it will be very nice and then the thought of a relaxing getaway will be a wish as I will be paying for this nice project for a longtime (lol). . . ah, so nice to have such a luxury problem this morning ;)
I did manage to visit with my son and the grandbabies yesterday afternoon and that was the best part of this past weekend.
Oh well I'd better get my butt in gear here and get ready for work, hope you all have a good day.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Prayers and positive thoughts going out to all, most especially those who have a real need,
Laureen

A good morning it is. I have made it through the night. Eating decently. Not too much crap.
Sunday was a decent day.
Got up and went to Sunday School and Church. Then went to Wally World, Sams, Office Depot, and Dollar Tree. Now this seems like an afternoon worth of shopping, but not with me. I went into Office Depot knowing all I wanted was screen savers for my new cell phone. In and out. Then to Dollar Tree, knowing I only wanted reading glasses. In and out. Then to Sams for cheese. Again, in and out. The only place I spent more than 10 minutes in was Wally World.
Went home and took a nap. Then went over to my son's house with my Foodsaver. Helped him package a cooler full of deer meat. Then we ate with them.
So really a nice day.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Good morning, Cindy and da gang!
Here I sit just after 5 in the morning. LilyRose woke me up by sitting on my head and now I'm wide awake. Once the old grey matter starts priming up, I'm finished sleeping.
I've been dragging these last few days with a sinus infection..just feeling punky actually. So I've been taking alot of naps and now my body doesnt seem to know when it's night time. But I'm fighting this bug and drinking alot.
OKay, confession time. I shop for Christmas all year 'round and sometimes forget (okay so Im blonde) what I bought or where I hid it. Yesterday I found a bag of red and green quality jelly beans...I dont even remember buying them. But, the devil made me do it..yes..I opened the bag....damn I hate when that happens! I tasted just one...and another and..well, you know how it goes.
But here's the catch. Im almost at my third year out and suddenly, for the first time, I dumped! All this time, I hated that I never dumped..not once. But suddenly, Im nauseous, my heart is POUNDING and I want to lay down and just die. I never thought Id be so happy to feel so awful! er....HURRAY!? *lol*
My Mandala Colouring books are doing well ...I have five themes so far and workng on seven more. Now I've added pages at the back of each book for journaling. Each Mandala seems to create ideas or bring back some old memories for some people...other just find peace and serenity by colouring or just focusing on it. But it pleases me that they bring comfort to others. The journaling pages offer a convenient place to jot down notes as the thoughts or memories arise.
It looks like we are headed into the Ice Age here...it is predicted that we will enjoy MINUS 25 CELCIUS this coming weekend. I guess it's time to call the polar bears in!
As I sit here I'm also creating a flyer for my next Business & Professional Women's Club dinner meeting to advertise our January speaker...and Derek has just finally gotten home from snow plowing and salting all of his contracts all night.
He is eating hot homemade chicken soup and headed to bed. Then this afternoon, he and his father, JB, will be working in the shop, welding "wings" onto his largest articulated V-plow...these wings add another three-four feet to the snow plow's width, which in turn, reduces the numbers of passes it takes to clear a parking lot. (It's amazing what technical stuff I learn everyday with mechanical geniuses in the house...now if only I can figure out why I can no longer download an attached file off my emails!).
Today, mother's new bed will be delivered. I'd planned on being there however, with this sinus infection, and Mother so recently out of the hospital, I am reluctant to go there to supervise in case I spread my germs to her. However, she knows they are coming and I've made special arrangements to have them set it all up into her metal frame and she will manage to add the bedding until I come a day or so later.
I also have to go out and buy her a new mattress pad and new bedding because the bed is now a "pillowtop" style which requires deeper pockets. I'd gotten such a good deal on this bed...70% off, no taxes, free delivery and free removal of the old bed, as well as extra free setting up the bed and a fifty dollar deduction because mother is a senior!
So now she has a wonderful, top-quality sturdy-edged (which she needs to push herself up and off from) theuropedic pillowtop double bed ...hopefully she will sleep much better now...she had never told me that her mattress was so bad til I got her home from the hospital..she was "trying to make do". I told her that THAT kind of stuff is what her money is for!
Today I will be calling the vet to make an appointment for LilyRose to be neutered..whew, sure glad that she is finally out of heat..and at only four months old! A lil rascal she is but she brings joy to the household..well, okay, except maybe for Katie whose nose is still out of joint..we make special efforts to give Katie extra attention but LilyRose seems to wriggle herself right in between then Katie runs away downstairs to Derek's apartment in a snit....poor Katie.
Well, I'm going to try to sleep another hour or two. Enjoy your day!

I went to the second hand shop yesterday and bought a new dresser. It is really nice. The dang thing won't fit up the stairs. Hopefully we can figure out a way to get it upstairs and into my room. I want so much to get things organized so I can stop living stepping over things. LP's roomis almost together. Hopefully, this week won't be as stressful at work so I can come home with enough energy to do things I need to do.
Have a good week everyone.

The love of my OH Family has me humbled!!!!
Aime, Our babies are crawling like crazy. At almost 10 months they are almost 18 lbs! One would never know that they were just 4lbs. Little Paul was so incredibly tiny. I can just imagine that you marvel at his every gesture and move.
Hannah is about ready to walk. She pulls up to the couch, turns around and tries to balance. Just a matter of time. And she is refusing baby food. Wants to feed herself. I told Erin to quit fighting it. Just start putting it on the plate and let her pick it up. One of Erin's favorite lines when she was little was "Me do. Et me do it. Gave it to Erin." Sounds like Hannah is just like her momma. Clara on the other hand is a drama queen. You put a little piece of anything in her mouth and she acts like she's gagging on it!
I hope it works out that you get to have Paul as often as you can handle him. I love having the babies but they sure are exhausting!

Glad to hear we all survived the weekend!
Very glad to hear you are out and about George!
Laureen remodeling is messy but when it is all over you will be so pleased with the results.

I am going to be clearing out a bunch of paperwork and trying to get organized. I will also be trying to keep warm since we are headed into the artic deep freeze this week ... brrrrrrrrrr!
Have a wonderful day/week all!
