Two mini WOW in a week!

1.  George and I had coffee with a long-time friend of his from way back in grammar school.  We hadn't seen Pat in about six years (he lives out of town now and was visiting family).  When he walked into the coffee shop, he couldn't believe what he saw.  He gave me a BIG hug and kiss on the cheek and said, "My mom told me you lost a lot of weight, but she didn't tell me you look this good."  I weigh less now than I did when I met him 38 years ago!

2.  There's a lady I work with who I've always thought was tiny.  She said something yesterday about feeling like a fat cow.  I told her I had always thought she was small and the perfect size.  She said she wears size 16 - 18 and sometimes 1X.  She asked what size I wear.  I hated to tell her I wear 12, 14, medium, and large depending on the cut.  She said she knew I was smaller than her.  I'd never have believed it!

BTW - London was cold and damp but beautiful!  We toured Kensington Palace, Winsor, the Tower, rode on the Eye of London, did a little shopping, and walked and walked and walked!  The food was bland and for the most part not very good.  I lost 4 lbs.  When I first got on the scale at home, Holy Moly, I was up 6 lbs.  Really bummed me out.  Then my sister and I talked, she was also up a few lbs.  We decided we had added way too much salt to our food for taste and drank way to little water.  After one day of flushing my system out with water, I was down a total of 10 lbs. - the added 6 and another 4!!!  Maybe I should travel more often!

Thanks Monica!  My niece had the prime spot in the parade, first row, center for the performance!!!  Losing those few lbs. was a bonus.

My favorite WOW moments are the ones where people, who have not seen me as I've lost the weight, see me for the first time. . .  and, yes, it is amazing to be the sizes we are today!  Good for you!

While I've not been to England, yet, my son hates to go there, says the food is just too awful there. . .

Glad you enjoyed your trip otherwise.

Hugs, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

Thanks Laureen.  The compliment was from a bachelor friend, so it made George sit up and take notice!  My son lived in Leeds, England for 6 months back in 2005.  For the most part he didn't like the food either (he's a chef).  He did, however find some great Indian food (YUCK - not my favorite).

WELCOME BACK.. there was a void with you gone. I am glad you had a good vacation. It is so nice to get away. I may be way off my bean, but I almost feel myself swelling up when I am on an airplane, I feel like I retain water, so very puffy with my hands and feet tight and swollen. I am glad the flushing worked. Do you think we will ever see ourselves as we really are? I often look at people and wonder " Am I her size? wonder what size she wears.. Glad your back, Blessings

Thanks Jean!  Hope you're doing well.  Yep, I could feel my underwear and jewelry getting tighter by the minute.
I saw a picture of myself someone took a couuple of weeks ago.  I couldn't believe how tall and thin I looked.  I still picture myself short and fat with a big round face.  I looked at the picture and thought "Is that really what I look like?"
