In LOVE with a new buzzy toy....
Ok, I bet THAT got your attention!
David and I purchased a little GEM electric car... called an NEV, Neighborhood Electric Vehicle because it goes only 25-30 mph and you can only take it on streets posted 35 mph max.
It's a two seater, almost a glorified golf cart but this one has full factory doors and a heater... both necessary for us since we live in this rainy, cold climate... We are also purchasing a little diamond plate, stake side bed for behind the cab so that we can load a couple of coolers and a folding table, umbrella and stand on it and drive it to our farmers markets. At this market, you pull in to your space and set up behind your vehicle. Our town is so "green" that I'm thinking this will be a good presentation, to come to market in the "No GAS" vehicle. As the economy changes, with our selling what is basically a luxury item, you have to give people additional reasons for them to give their hard earned money to you... so I'm thinking that supporting someone's efforts to get away from fossil fuel falls in that category...
I live so far out of town, with a mountain to go over on the way... Buzzy won't be my transportation to town... or for longer trips to Portland for deliveries... but I have the Subaru that gets 30 mpg for that. We'll keep Buzzy in town at my son's... hopefully all charged up so that I can come into town in the Subby, then switch to Buzzy for all of the in town errands... living in the country means a trip to town involves a "to do" list a mile long. So if I can do that running around using NO gas, that's an improvement... and my son can use it to take my grandson to school, to run up to his shop north of town.... also a majority of his daily driving... trips less than 10 miles...
If you want to check one out... try googling GEM, Global Electric Motors. We are getting a very gently used 2 seater with doors and a little flat cargo platform (the short version) on the back. Im so excited!! I think it's kind of "buggy" looking but the last "bug looking" car turned out to be a classic (VW Beetle) so I have hopes of this becoming a classic...
Take care everyone.... have a great day...

Dang right It did, I smiled and thought Welcome Back Nancy!! Then read your post ..Oh A CAR.. guess I have a dirty mind..It sounds wonderful, I share a garage with my neighbor who had the neatest little scooter, but in 3 years it has never been out of the garage. I would so love tohave one, I could drive it to work and local erands. I bought a bike with that in mind but someone stole it
and honestly my legs are so crooked it was difficult to peddle. I am very excited for you and mother earth. Blessings
