TGIF What's New
Yep, it's Friday!
We were 32 this morning, and only gonna get to 48. I know, you folks up north are saying 'big deal'. You guys farther south are saying 'big deal'. But we have only been here 4 years and I'm still getting used to these lovely winters!
Our son has discovered the Food Network! God help us all!! He is trying all kinds of yummy recipes! I personally love the Food Network, and I am always looking at their yummy recipes. But with my band and just my DH and I it's hard to try those things.
How did it happen that I love to cook and I am a great cook (and I'm quite modest), but I have a daughter who can't/won't cook - her DH does ALL the cooking! I also have 2 sons who love to cook and are very good at it. Go figure!
Hugs,
Eileen, you have to remember that it is still early for you being out from surgery and you did a lot more yesterday than the knee is use to. It is use to being home and the PT as it's most exertion. It was out and about a lot yesterday and so it needs some time to get accustom to doing more. Just keep doing what you are doing and know that in time you will see more of a change. I just know that it is going to work this time. I know that it is hard for you to just sit at home since you are use to getting in the car and going where you need to go. Heck, if you are anything like me, even if you sit at home you are use to having the option of getting up and going. It will all come in time. Just keep the good thoughts. Remember I am here if you need me. All you have to do is call and I am up there with you.
Carla, you know that in time you are going to feel better. It seems like the things are going with how the oncologist said it would. I am talking about the being tired and all. It will get better in time and when you start the treatment for it you may feel like it is getting worse but in the end you will see the improvement. I am keeping you in thoughts. I am here for you when and if you need me but you know that already. I may not be able to go and help you but what I can do for you I will.
It is snowing here this morning. We already have a couple of inches on the ground from last night and during the night. I guess we are suppose to get a lot more. They said that south was getting 1-3'" but we have just about exceeded that amount so I would say we are going to get more than that. Easy guess there since the snow is coming down pretty good right now.
Misty's little friend came to see her a while ago. Their little prints are outside on the patio. I am not sure which one it is, it might be the one that looks like her or it might be Morris' little clone. Bill's cousin lives in the building next to mine and one time she called to see if Misty was home or if she got out. She saw the one that looks like her and she told me that every time she sees that one she thinks at first Misty got out.
Nothing much going on today that I know of. I was suppose to take my aunt to the nursing home to see my uncle but Aunt Virginia is getting over the flu. I told my cousin that as low of a resistance as Uncle Bob has he doesn't need that for sure. He has enough (really more than) problems, he doesn't need more. So I was told that today might be the day. My cousin Dianne said that she would call but I haven't heard anything.
I guess I should get going. I have been going on and on. I hope that everyone has a wonderful day and remember one thing~tomorrow is Saturday (my favorite day of the week) and I Love Lucy is on TV Land in the morning. Can't get better than that!!!! I am sending love and hugs to all and kind thoughts to those who want them and prayers to those who would like them. Have a smile ready for others since that might be the only one they see all day. Besides smiles can be contagious!!
Did you notice that "I Love Lucy" moved to the Hallmark Channel? The Friday after you left, they had a Lucy marathon too. Lots of the same episodes that were on TVLand on New Year's Eve, too ... I guess there's a finite number of episodes.
We are getting pounded by lake-effect snow today. But I have nowhere to go, so it doesn't matter to me. I'm better today ... have a little headache that I was fighting and my back hurts a little but otherwise, I'm doing OK. The knee is better ... it just needed to act up and remind to rest.
My desktop is in the hospital it has a serious virus and I'm not sure that it is going to recover! I am on my laptop that I use for work. I hope that my desktop gets well soon. LOL
Things are going pretty good around here. My DH has finally found a job. He has not worked regularly since he retired in 1996. He has been managing a trailer park for his mother and will continue to do that also. He is a REALTOR also, but has not built up any clients yet and with this market we cannot afford to pay the fees associated with Real Estate for both of us. So I am still a REALTOR and he is the one making a regular check! I hope he is going to get used to this type of work and will be able to stick it out for the duration of this project anyway. He is working with an electrical outfit building the new ethynol plant in Raeford, NC.
Mom is doing ok. She still over does it when she has a good day and then has a bad day. I am trying to get her to understand that she is not 30 anymore and just cannot push herself like she used to. Not getting through!
Sorry to bend your ear so much, but it has been a couple of days since I got online. I am trying to catchup! I hope your Friday and weekend will be lovely. Have a great time.
Hugs,
Not having been in your position, never mind having to go through it all a 2nd time, all I can do is wish you the best possible outcome this time around and hope that as each day goes by, you can look to it as another day closer to you being pain free and more mobility without the pain you have endured. Sending you lots of positive healing thoughts!
Carla, my uncle in NC is going through treatments again, his 2nd go round and it is very wearing, just listen to your body and get the rest you need. I'm sorry you are having to experience this right now and hope that this time passes quickly and that you are soon cancer free. Sending your positive healing thoughts too!
Well this is it, my first Friday at work in 1-1/2 years and so last night, Dillinger wakes me up at some unGodly hour to go outside, I wait for him, go back to bed, fall asleep and next thing I know I hear the heater kick on and think, oh it must be 5 a.m., look over at the alarm clock and it's 6:24 a.m., OMG!!!

Well Ladies and Gents, I wish you the best day today and hoping that you dig deep and find the strength to face whatever life challenges come your way!
Hugs, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

We got about 1-2 inches of snow, but I guess more is expected later on today.
I have a doctors appt at 1 today. I've had this cough/upper respiratory thing for about 4-5 weeks now and just can't shake it. I did 10 days of antibiotics before Christmas so you'd think by now it would be gone. I'm doing all the things that usually work, nebulizer, mucinex etc but nothing seems to help break up the congestion in my chest. I have a lot of rattling, wheezing and whistling going on in my lungs today. Hopefully the doctor will have something new to try. My daughter thinks I may have pneumonia... hope not!
The good thing is I am getting in all my water again, With taking the Mucinex you need lots of water to help loosen the congestion. I thought the scale might go up with temporary water gain but it actually dropped, so now just 2 pounds to go to where I was before Christmas. Glad all the extra junk is out of here, except my neighbor brought over one of those Sausage/Cheese & Crackers boxes the other night. Told my DH he needs to eat them today or out to the trash they go. I wish we had a local food pantry that would take stuff like that.
Prayers to those who want or need them.
Hugs, Paulette

This has been a long week at work. It is hard to come back after a long break, but I have also been dealing with those data analysis reports. I just don't have the brain for these reports.
I think of each of you every day!!!!! Love ya Sistahs!
