Hi Eileen and Everyone,

Eileen - I sure hope you knee is better each day in spite of the pain.  Do you think it's improving in it's own way at all?  Really hope so.  It's good that the ice helps I suppose.....

It's Dentist day for me and that is always tough because I have a real fear of dentists.  I actually have trouble sleeping the night before and have a history of starting out for the dentist and ending up at the mall.  LOL  We'll see what we do today.  Hubby used to take me before he stopping driving.  He will call several times today to be sure I head in the right direction.  Sorry if this is off topic for this board but it's early and a thought I'm having.

Found a store yesterday called Viva Low Carb.  They actually do most of their business on line but have walk-in as well.  It's really a warehouse with some product on display.  I was able to find a few things but disappointed they were out of AchievOne.  They seem to be the only store I can find in Southern California who actually stocks AchievOne.  Go figure.

The weather promises to be warmer for the next several days and that should motivate me to get out there moving.  Tomorrow is labwork for the WLS doctor's visit coming up next week.  Run some errands and then find some way to exercise.

Off to work today.  Typical Friday.  Have a good day and I hope some weight falls off each and every one who wants some weight to disappear!

Hey Kathi, I'm glad to see you on the board....I've been wanting to tell you I made the chocolate cake in a cup.
It was so "dry" I nearly choked on it.....so, I tried it again and instead of the canola oil, I used 2 tbsp. of s/f applesauce......improved it greatly....also added 1/2 tsp. of vanilla.  It's good with s/f cool whip!

Have a great day,
Pat R.

Thanks Pat!

I will change my recipe accordingly too.  I agree is was a bit dry and your improvements should help alot.  I really appreciate you sharing.

Kathi:

No one seems to have AchievOnes ... bariatriceating.com says the manufacturer is out til March. I don't know why this happens, but it seems to happen at least once a year. Don't know how they stay in business with this happening. I have heard good things about a protein powder called Click espresso powder. I bought some yesterday at nashuanutrition.com; this stuff is supposed to taste just like AchievOne when made. It cost $24.95 plus $6.95 shipping. (Since I can't get out right now, it's the best I can do.) Maybe you can find it in your health food store.

Oh, Eileen...... do report back and let me know how you like the Click!  I'm going to look at the larger nutrition store that I go to when I visit my WL Surgeon next week.  In the meantime, I have protein powders to use but - you know - it's not the same as AchievOne....  I'm hooked on the stuff!

BTW..... I'm glad to read you're feeling better today.  All the snow and nowhere you have to go.  Good thing.

You said:  I actually have trouble sleeping the night before and have a history of starting out for the dentist and ending up at the mall.

That is just too too funny.  I need dental work done too but it will have to wait.  I'm no longer comfortable at the dentists either.

What's off topic about a fear? Especially one that led you to the mall and quite possibly Cinnabon! At least it would have me. I still don't like to go to the dentist; bad early experiences. Used to have to take a "chill pill" hours before my appointment. I still tend to grip the chair arms even during a cleaning! I understand. . .

Good Morning Eileen, Sure hope your knee surgery works much better this time. Even as well as I did with mine it took about 6 weeks to really start to see the benefit. Hang in there.

I need help with a photo printing thing. Hopefully some of you who are more computer literate than I can help. I want to print 4 photos on one page to include with a letter. I want to make about 30 copies. I can't seem to figure out how to get it to print more than one at a time. Can't find a # area to change. One at a time seems to load it each time taking about 10 minutes per page. Any suggestions?

I've been up working on this for an hour or two. I'd better try to get some more sleep or I'll be a mess (worse than usual) when the sun rises!

We got our fence put back together. The contractor added several more posts imbedded in concrete to add more support. Wind is still blowing. Lots of flooding on the west side and passes from east to west are closed with flooding and mud slides. Spring come early please!

Good morning Eileen and everyone. Happy Friday! Sometimes when my alarm goes off, I have to think what day is this.  Of course I don't set my alarm for the weekends, so I knew it wasn't Saturday. LOL
Eileen, I hope your knee finally heels.  You have been in so much pain with this.
Carla, I hope that your thyroid cancer goes away completely and you're better soon.
Glad George is doing better.
Eileen, my husband decided to drop the paper here where we live.  It has always been a small paper, but it seems to keep getting smaller, but the price keeps going up.  I will miss the Sunday paper because that is when we get all the sale ads, TV guide.  Not that I shop much but like to see if there is something out there I might be interested in.  Plus I love the comics.
He just goes on-line and reads the paper now.
Well, better get going.  Need to get ready for work.

Take care,
Mickey

So many people are dropping the newspaper and reading online; that's why my job is in jeopardy. I don't blame them now ... our newspaper is shrinking in size so badly it looks crappy. It's so disorganized you can't find anything in it. If I had to pay for it, I don't know if I would either. But so many people don't have access to computers or aren't computer savvy (like my mom), they wouldn't know what to do without their daily newspaper. Detroit already has cut back to three day home delivery. I can see happening here soon too.
