Question about the Bible reading thread - for those who use it

This is just a question.  I do not care one way or another, because I am posting this on my state board also and therefore am holding myself accountable.

I would really like to know how many people are actually using it, and if they would continue to use it if I PM'd each person the Bible verses for the day.

If you feel you need the post directly on the board to more bring it to your attention, no problem, I can continue that.

But if a PM would be just as successful, and only if it would be just as successful, I can do that.

I am not saying let someone else win or lose a conflict, I just want this board to remain the good board it has been.  I never intended to start any conflict.

And, advance warning, if we go to PMs, I will continue to post in my What's New posting that my verses have been read.  So those of you offended by that, please ignore my What's New post if I go that way.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

This is just like you, George.  Mr. Sensitive.

I applaud you for looking at both sides.  PMs are a good way to continue the thread for those who wish to join in on the daily readings.

AND it is not offensive to those who wish the board to remain neutral in topics political and religious.

I'm not taking a stance because either way is fine with me.  This is a win/win situation.  No winners and no losers...  except the dang weight... lol

Hi, George,

Thanks for your well thought out post!

I do really like to be reminded to read the verses,  I am behind right now and want badly to get caught up!

A PM would be fine to help keep me motivated, I hope it won't be too much trouble for you.

I will also let you know when I get caught up and if I do the daily readings.

Thanks so much.

George,

I've already PM'd you some of  my thoughts about this, but as the day wore on, thought more about it.    Certainly others here post many things that are off topic and may be offensive to others that have nothing to do with our weight loss journey.  We are a summation of all the things that influence us, our past, our  daily interactions with other people, etc.  Some things help us grow as a person, to be more tolerant of others and some things do nothing but tear us down.  For me your Bible reading postings help me to be a better person and live life the way I want to.  As far as I am concerned if you're listing the Post as OT: Daily Bible Reading, then everyone knows what it is and if they don't want to "see" it they can just control their mouse not to click on the topic  or block the posting.

Prayers to you & Mary, Paulette

Heya.... I don't use your verses... my church has a structured reading program and we discuss them when we meet so .... uhh.... dat's why!

Never could understand why folks can't just skip what they don't like...

George, either way is fine with me.    This is just something I need to do each day and this does help me so.  If you want, I can peek into your state board.  Whatever is easiest .  I just appreciate you doing this so much.   I will try to remember to post on the What's New Thread.  (I have an old brain and it does not always remember )

I don't think you need to change what you are doing. I haven't started doing the daily Bible reading yet, but I might one of these days.
I don't think somebody should dictate what you do or say. Like some have said, if they don't like it they don't have to read it.  There are quite a few things I don't read on here. Some things don't interest me.  This 50 forum has always been a good place and it wasn't because of her or any of the oldies who left.  Most people after time leave because they have outgrown needing support and their lives are busy. There are many people who leave but then there are new ones who come along.   Hopefully, they haven't been scared the heck off by such rudeness. LOL

Take care and hope you are feeling better.

Mickey

George, my own personal opinion is that you should continue to do what YOU want to do. Whatever makes you comfortable. I wouldn't change things just because of some people. As far as I am concerned they are not wanting us to push our beliefs but they are pushing theirs~what is the difference other than it is something that they want. If you chose to do the pm's that is fine with me. If you chose to keep doing the daily thread that is fine too. Do what makes you happy and feels comfortable. I figure why should one person change their way just so another person doesn't have to change theirs. I hope that you don't feel responsible for what happened since they would have found something to do what they did since they were h3llbent to do it anyway. For some any excuse will do.

I am so glad that you are home and feeling better. May you continue to feel better more and more each day. I am sending love, hugs and a lot of prayers for you and Mary.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
