Morning everyone,

I'm compiling a list to take to my support group tonight of various websites related to WLS. OTHER than OH, of course, what sites do you go to for things like supplies, supplements, support (ha!), calorie/food tracking, etc?

My post ops might know some of them, but I'm sure the pre-ops would appreciate some additional places for information. Actually, I'm sure we all could  use the info here, too!

Hope everyone has a nice day

Hey Susan,

I checked out the quixote cite and it's pretty cool.  I saw a few of our old Arkansas friends there and quite a few from here.  It has a lot of information and motivational posts.

Hi Jeannie,

I used to go there right after they formed the site, since I was an avid reader of Tek's posts. They are very smart, articulate folks with lots of information to give. But...and I say this with great care as to not offend, they (to me) tend to be intellectual snobs. There was a time where they would openly make fun of people's questions or responses and frankly, that intimidated me to the point where I stopped going there. I never posted because I was afraid to.

It's been a long time since I've visited there. Maybe I'll put a toe into the waters and test it out. But you're right, there is a lot of information and advice there for the right person.

Hope you're staying warm up there in th North!

Hi Susan,

Great idea for your group.  I like www.bariatriceating.com for shopping for supplies and a "positive" support board.  I also like www.ibariatric.com as well for some things.

I found www.whfoods.org the other day and haven't finished purusing but it looks like a good one!  I also like www.nutritiondata.com as well.  Another favorite is http://www.livingafterwls.com/index.html.

All positive places in my opinion!

Thanks, Kathi,

I'm liking the little bit that I saw of whfoods.org. I'm going to have to take some time to go look around there more. I've never seen ibariatric.com, so that's a new one for my list too.

Thanks for these suggestions, they're added to the list!

I am a big online shopper - I hate trying to find the things I want and need and have to run all over town.  So for sugar free syrups I use:  www.lollicup.com
for some good protein bars and they have samples:  www.barigoodeating.com
to find low carb slim fast:  www.drugstore.com and many times they have free shipping available and no tax.
and I use GNC :  www.gnc.com for protein bullets with my gold card.

Ships to the door and I never have to leave the house - my kind of shopping.

I would love to see the list you compile aftter your meeting to use at the support meeting that I sponser on Saturdays.  Please share....

Shelia
