I, too, crochet.  When I am watching the television or watching the fire, I make slippers, afgans, potholders.  I think your heart is gorgeous and if you don't make an afgan, try making little purses or doll holders for the grands.  That would make cute little valentine gifts for girls.  You could get a cheap plastic doll, make a solid color doll blanket and put doll and blanket in the heart pouch.

You could make "grannie squares and then sew them on with with white yarn. It would make a really cute afghan or a lap throw for someone. You could put one every other square and make some squares red and some white. It would look nice with the hearts on the red squares, they would show up nicely. Maybe be a nice thing to contribute to a fundraiser, like in a chinese auction. You would get recognition for making it and a good cause could raise some money.

Okay - this is coming from someone who doesn't have any living Grandparents and really missed out because when I was young - I was stupid.....need I say more..

Anway - what about giving these to the elderly through a nursing home project of some sort...
To let them know that they are LOVED  not matter what..........

How many of them may not have families that even come and see them and forget about them.
I just wished I could crochet fast enough to get these out to all

THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL !!

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.

Do you have a nursing home in your area.  I know some of those lonely old ladies would love your beautiful hearts and nobody has probably thought of them on Valentines day for years.

You could send one to Annette for her heart collection, but don't tell her, let it be a surprise.
