Great ideas, Jane.   As a matter of fact, I have a metal scupture in the shape of a tree that hangs on the wall --- maybe I could hang some there.    Re: the cardiologist office --- I am ever so grateful for my Mom's cardiologist & would happy make a kazillion for his office to show my gratitude.   I give him & her PCP a lot of credit for her great health at the age of 90!

Yes, I made the basketweave afgan in the background.  It's knitted.  I'm also into entrelac knitting -- I think I have a fixation on the basketweave theme.   Thanks!

I can see them used as small pockets for a sweatshirt.  I would love to have some to embellish a sweatshirt.  Especially for a little girl.

Put them on a sweater or fill with sachet and give as gifts...  Put a yarn or satin ribbon on the top.

They are absolutely adorable.

Thanks, Millie
I've never dressed up a sweatshirt at all & it sounds like a fun idea!   I think I'll make a smaller version for this idea.

I sew garments and one of my favorites is making jackets and top from sweatshirts.

I could see a heart as a pocket, or in the lapel area with a couple of them in different sizes overlapping.  a couple large ones on the back between the shoulder blades too.  LOL

I do tend to get carried away....  but then that is what I do best...

Knitting and crocheting... so simple to some... not to me...  that's not relaxing.... lol

embroidery is sheer torture....  sigh...  I do love the looks of it.... Oh and counted cross stitch... No, all I can do is stare at it in amazement.... how can they do that..  lol  my talents are elsewhere.

Have Fun...  Millie

Oh Jan I am smitten ! It is beautiful! I like all the ideasI am decorating an artificial tree for Valentines day and the first thing I thought was what neat decorations they would make. I like the sweatshirt idea too, and the doctors office. Are they small enough to attatch a pin to the back and make them pins? You are not wasting time, just amking the world more beautiful one heart at a time..Thanks for sharing

Thank you so much!  They are made from a cotton yarn, but if I made them from a fine crochet thread, they might be small enough for a pin.  If I can find red crochet thread, I'll give it a try.  Thanks

Jan,

If you make them out of fine crochet thread, attach them to earring hooks or turn them into keychains. Metallic thread and beading would make them sparkle. Look in a craft store for those items.

A couple of 's stitched together, adding a button and loop would make a cute change purse.

Use them as a pillow case edging or on a small hand towel. Sew them on the pocket of jeans or slipper socks.

I have collected 's since I was 10 years old so this caught my eye.

Have fun. Relaxation is never foolish.

Hi Jan,

That is a really cute heart you're making there!  I wonder if you couldn't stitch several together -- in a circle -- and have a trivet or round potholder.  You would put all the points at the bottom together and stitch up each side until they are no longer touching? .......... hope that makes sense.......  You didn't mention how big the heart is so I don't know if that would work.......

For the grandkids, you could just stuff them with special notes from Grandma that they might cherish for years to come.  Or... how about a bunch of jokes where they can pull one out each day or week for several (depending on how many you can get in there) days or weeks.

I think, also, if the two sewn together were stuffed with a weighted material they would make adorable hop scotch "pegs" for young ones at Valentine's Day.  I would draw the hopscotch board in the shape of hearts and hop away!  LOL

How about several hanging down from each other like a windchime?  You could connect them with some pretty ribbon in some way...... even in different sizes........

Again, your many, many talents coming through......

Kathi
