Karen the next time you are here, let's do the diamond digging.  You can stay here and we can make a huge weekend of rocking.  I do the hummus and refried beans.  My friend from India makes me the best hummus you can imagine. I make it too, but he wasn't completely honest with me on the ingriedients because mine never tastes as good as him.  I love my kitten but she is timid and only comes to me.  When others are here, she hids.  Mathew says she is his and the baby plays hide and seek with her.  My hair is still curly and has been since it all came back.

I enjoy walking too, as long as the winter weather permits.  It's snowing right now so I will have to settle for the exercise bike...
Walking is much more interesting too!

Marcia,

I was in a wheel chair for close to ten years. I wa**** by a drunk driver and my back was broken in three places.  They said I'd never walk again.  When I started standing, they were shocked and eventually, the doctor went in and removed some scar tissue and the next thing, I's taking baby steps.  Anyway, from all that time in the wheelchair and on heavy duty steroids, I gained up over 550 pounds.  When I got where I could walk, I began walking a little and counting my calories and dropped in two years down to 350.  I did get to 288 but began gaining it back and settled around 339-350.  After a year or two of the scale not going down and me slowly gaining back and my knees getting so badly that the doctor said no walking, I decided to have the wls.  I must tell you, when the weight began to fall off and I began to walk, it was the happiest times of my life.  I am still, after all this time, amazed that I can walk for hours and not need to sit down.  I walk all over Eureka Springs, which is hilly and miles and miles of stores, and never break a sweat.  My dh and children all have to stop and rest but I just keep on going.  I hope your walking is as appreciated and enjoyable as mine.

We all have great accomplishments.  I remember someone posting that they had never been able to drive and after losing weight fit behind the wheel.  Also, one of my close wls friends never wore shoes that tied because she couldn't bend over and tie them. I had not worn jeans in years and now wear them all the time.  I think it is those little things that make life so worthwhile for us.  I still marvel how easy showers are or going to any toilet or sitting in any chair or boothes.
