What's New This Tuesday?

Good Morning all,

Floyd, I am so glad to hear that Brenda is doing better. I'm hoping you get some rest too.

It seems there is so much discord on the OFF board.  After reading some of what was written,  I thought about leaving OFF, since I'm still a relative newbie and haven't had surgery, not sure if I ever will, and apparently who I am causes some discomfort for others, but decided I'll continue to be who I am, just me, take it or leave it, it's up to you.  I am not perfect, no one is, I try to be a good example in my life but obviously fail at times.  If you don't care to read what I post, feel free to block me, it won't hurt my feelings.  I came to OH looking for support while I explored the possibility of having wls. I found it on  a few forums but  felt most comfortable on the over 50, since many of us are at similar stages in our lives.

I wish you all well at whatever stage/place you are at.

Paulette, There is truly room for all of us here. It's what makes it interesting. When the fire gets a bit hot, as it occassionally does, I head to a corner until it cools down. And it always does. . . . We are really like a regular family, warts and all, in many ways.  As the saying goes "Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater." There's too much good support here. I have found more help here than with my local support group.

Paulette:

I read OFF every day but seldom post.  I think that this is an open foum and that we should all be able to freel free to come in and visit or just stop by and read.

What bothered me most about yesterday's "we want our board back" thread was that the original post seemed to be so mean-spirited.

I hope that you stop by and post whenever you feel like it.

Hi Cindy,

Thanks for your comments.  I try to be an open minded person and do respect everyone's right to express their opinion whether or not I agree with it.  What I had a problem with yesterday,  was the "calling out" of certain people and the posts seemed to imply that this forum was only for "old timers". Every one started here as a "newbie" .

The thing I liked most about OH, and this particular forum, when I first joined, was that I felt people were supportive of each other.  In the "real world" people can be so judgmental and harsh, to those of us that don't look like the "ideal" or whatever their idea of "ideal" is...be it size, color, religion or not, race...etc.   Many of us ate to avoid or insulate ourselves from  the "real world".  I thought here... true acceptance was found.  I am who I am because of all the parts of me, not just the "fat struggling" part of me.  Maybe the problems of this board of late are the same as what is going on in our country.  We need to come together and figure out how to fix what is broken and work together at solving problems, rather than pointing fingers.  We still can  agree to disagree but try to work to support each other.

that's just my opinion...

Paulette, I am so glad that you reconsidered leaving. I would miss you so much. You add so much joy and happiness to our little family. You are a wise lady and spread that wisdom here at OFF.

I consider you a very special person in my life and I am so glad that I met you and you are a part of my world.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

You know how I feel, Paulette, you need to stick around. We can all support each other in so many ways. We don't need to have surgery only to support one another. Please don't leave. I have been so lucky to have you as a friend and anyone who has come in contact with you will know what a wonderful person you are.

Eileen,  I am not going to leave the OFF, I considered it but realized even though I can't get on here everyday anymore I still need the support I get from all of you when i can get on here.  I also appreciate the calls I get from you, Carla and Brenda and some of the others, it all really does help.

Love & Hugs, Paulett
