What's NEW with YOU on this MONDAY morning?

Good morning everyone,

Wow George!  I didn't recognize you in the new photo.  You look great!
Mostly a jammie weekend for me too although I did hear one of my favorite bands, do a little dancing and see the movie Benjamin Button.

My weight has been stalled through the holidays.  I do OK on weekdays but blow it on weekends when my friend, Gil, is around.  He cooks and brings snacks that I shouldn't have.  I eat some or have a drink or two.  I need to nip this in the bud and have asked him not to bring his snacks over.

So I'm back on the straight and narrow today.  Made some chili yesterday and brought it to work today.  I'll focus on protein and liquids and get on the treadmill at lunchtime.

Had to break through the ice in Carl's water bucket yesterday but it is warmer this morning and we may get a little rain this afternoon.  We sure need it.

Have a bright and successful week.

Hi George and my OFF family:

Thankfully, the sun is shining today. It was so gloomy yesterday and it matched my mood. I was extremely depressed and for no good reason. I actually had less pain yesterday most of the day, but I was just so blue and lonely, and couldn't find anyone to talk to. I started crying at one point. I get into these crying jags at points when I'm stuck at home like this ... I'm used to being out with people, and I get lonely when I have no one to talk to. I called my cousin to ask about her mom, but she wasn't home either. After that, I figured everyone must be busy because they have families and didn't have time for me. I know, I'm feeling sorry for myself here ... like I said, no good reason. It happened the last time I had surgery and was stuck inside. But today, I'm better.

I graduated to using the cane today. That's good in one way because I can now carry things with one hand, but bad in the other way because before I could use the tray on the walker to bring a bunch of stuff into the living room. But I'm glad to ditch the walker. The cane is much easier to use. I'm sure Nettie will be happy to see the walker go, too ... she got her tail stuck under it once when she got too close ... MEOW! Poor girl!

Boy, oh boy, drama on the board again! Look, I don't read everything on the board ... I'm not overly religious either, and if I don't want to read a Bible verse a day, I don't, and if I don't want to pray for someone, I don't ... that's up to each individual. But I respect everyone else's right to do what they want. I try not to criticize other people's faults, because I have my own ... and I know who Jeannie was referring to about overspending, although I don't buy expensive shoes (I only own one pair of shoes, and it cost me $95 because I have bad feet) ... but then everyone has their faults. I work everyday to control my bad habits. Some days are better than others. It's why I'm still seeing a psychologist. Those who chose to criticize me should look at themselves first. I'm sorry I'm not perfect. I just wish everyone would respect each other.

George, great job on the exercise ... wish I could do as much as you ... maybe someday I'll catch up when the knee heals. Wish I had a hot tub to soak in, but then I can't until the doc gives his OK.

Not much planned for today ... physical therapist was already here and things went well there, what with the graduation to the cane. Yesterday I took two naps and was so bored I couldn't even stay awake during the football games. I need to find something else to do.

Anyway, have a good day.

Hello all.

I was shocked to read the post about Christians.  It is hard when you are one not to show it, act like it,and live it.  If you don't do that you aren't a true Christian to begin with.

However, I do NOT want to leave this Over Fifty Forum and don't intend to.  I will try to be more careful in what I post.

What is up today is that it is my daughter's 28th birthday and she and her family are coming over for supper.  So I have been shopping and  cooking this afternoon.

Giving her a 3 month membership to the fitness center for her birthday.  That way we can work out together.

Hope everyone has a good evening.

Im probably the last to post today, but here goes anyway, Im trying to get back into the habit,,,

I havent felt the best today,,backache, I think I threw it out playing the WII at the daughters house Saturday! I had better stick to board games from now on. I did get three home runs though!! LOL

I started the 5 day pouch test with Judy and the others today, got through it just fine. Like Judy, spent a lot of time running to the potty,,but its all good! I gotta get back on track! Had a small gain of about 7 pounds this holiday season,,dont want to let that escalate!!

Read the "drama" thread, and just decided to let it go,it was making me angry to see my OFF family attacked. I dont try to preach,I just live my faith, but I dont mind if someone else does. We all post things other people arent interested in at times,,no biggie. Diversity is what life is all about,,makes it interesting! I don't think anything gives us the right to point fingers or attack someone else when their life is really none of our business. None of us are perfect, just forgiven.

We are supposed to get freezing rain tonight, so glad Im retired and dont have to get out in it in the morning. They are saying it shouldnt be too bad though.I wish we would get a big snow,,I know, Im strange! LOL  But I love it!

Im getting excited. The sister I found after searching for 24 years is moving here in April! It will be so great to have family again. She is my only living relative other than my kids and grands, so its really gonna be fun. She has never had a computer and Im setting her up,gonna teach her the ropes. I cant wait.

Hated to hear about Brenda! I read FLoyd's update on  the Indiana board, so am glad she is doing better. They are sweet people.

Well, guess Ill go look up some recipes on the recipe forum. I get in a rut eating the same things, I think that may be part of why I got off track, boredom. Tomorrow is day 2 of the 5 day test,,so far, so good!
Have a great evening all!

Blessings
Betsy
