Introduction of new forum member
Joyce, welcome to OFF. Happy to have you here.
This is a great place to be. We will be there for you. If you have questions, we have answers. Or at least suggestions.
My wife and I have both had RNY. We have just recently decided to redidicate ourselves to more activity. We have been to the gym 5 of the last 6 days. And we are going again tomorrow.
I use the board for accountability. I am more likely to do something if I tell others I will. Use it for the same if you need to. This board can easily adapt to being what you need.

Thank you for your welcome! I think it is great that both you and your wife have had WLS. I have tried to talk my husband into it, but it really would have to be something he wants.
I think it is great too that both of you are going to rededicate yourselves to being more active. I have pain because of a cyst on my spine and have become far too sedentary, even though I live in a community with great opportunities for being active. I know that I need to move more too!
The use of this board for accountability is a great idea. I see many list what they have eaten. I could also add what I have done for exercise that day. Thank for the suggestion!

Thank you! I have my pre-op appointment on Tuesday. They told me to expect to be there most of the day for tests. My surgery is scheduled for the following Monday, the 12th.
My husband interviewed for a part-time position as a speech instructor at a nearby community college a week before Christmas. The entire campus including the personnel office has been closed for two weeks, and he is still waiting to learn if he got the position. If he did, I may have to ask for my surgery to be postponed because I would not want him worrying about me on the first day of a new job.
Do you live in California? I am halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento. Where are you?

Joyce, You and I are almost neighbors, I live in Concord! Where will you be having your surgery? I will go to UCSF this coming Thurs and I really like to Dr so I am getting excited.
