Marc - good to *see* you again.  Hope the job is going well.

You've gotten some great suggestions - and here is one more.  I like to have the individually wrapped cheese sticks available - sometimes I wrap a piece or two of deli ham or turkey around it (zap it in the microwave for a few seconds - yum) and have a pickle on the side.  Good snack and portable.

Sounds really good.... and thanks. The job is going well... i like it so far, and am getting better at it all the time... The knee is hanging in there pretty good, and hopefully the feet will eventually feel better if I shed this weight.... I know that is helping kill the feet...

Marc, someone on another board said the Atkins protein bars are good - only 1 gr of sugar.  You may want to try them - I can't tell you through my own experience, as I'm not ready for bars yet, but I'll give them a try when I can!

Marc,
The Atkins bars are good and low carbs/sugar but are very high in fat. So, if fat bothers you, be careful. They are also fairly high in calories. I used them when I was "doing" Atkins previously.
I really like to use the Fage greek yogurt and put hidden valley ranch dressing mix in it. I thin it down with a little milk or water and use it for a dressing. I can not STAND fat free dressing. Greek yogurt is very high in protein so I feel like it is a good choice.

hey marc...have you tried the PURE PROTEIN bars? they are low in sugar...i have the chocolate peanut butter ones and they have 20 grams protein and 2 grams sugar with 6 grams sugar alcohol. i love them!! and they come in handy when you are pressed for time and need protein fast!!

drinking water plain sometimes makes me gag so i will use a squeeze of lemon juice in it makes it taste so much better...also drinking out of a blue colored glass also makes it more appetizing...

calcium citrate is for your bones...need them marc...i use the citracal petites. easier to swallow for me!!

hope you have good luck getting back on track and get those extra pounds off....i am trying the 5 day pouch test starting monday...you are welcome to join us...even if you don't do the test with us...

hugs

Hey Marc,

I have used the Ken's Lite Accents spray salad dressings...they are 1 cal per spray.  I have used the balsamic and I like it a lot.  Just a suggestion.  Good luck!  Sounds like you are making a good plan, and that is a great way to succeed!

Happy New Year!

Hi, Marc, it's me and you know me~can't seem to keep my mouth shut for long so..........

I use the Slim Fast
low carb shakes for 20 grams of protein. I like the chocolate but then again what is not to like about chocolate???? I would drink one as a snack at break sometimes. If you don't want to let others know that you are drinking them just stick them in a travel cup and go.

A word of warning for you regarding the calcium though........if you have a history of kidney stones I would stay away from the calcium if they were calcium stones. That will help to make the stones more often. I had some and the doctor took me off the calcium as soon as they heard they were calcium stones. Just thought you might want to know this for reference, but check with you doctor first.

It sounds like you got a good plan going there! Knowledge is the main key to success and it sounds like you are doing well. Keep up the great work and it will start to come more easily.
