New Years Eve...what are you doing tonight?

This is the first year that I won't have to resolve to lose weight in the new year. What a relief !  Last year at this time I didn't even have my surgery date and now I am down 90+ lbs. I have about 17lbs to my original goal. I may want to go a little lower though.
The other day I was trying of jeans and i was able to zip up a size 8. Boy was I suprised. I didn't buy then though. I'm still taking in my other jeans. We are going on a cruise in March and I want to wait and get some new clothes for vacation. I am going to hit the resale shops for some shorts. I'll have to get a new swimsuit too. My old one is a 22/24.
Tonight DH, son and daughter and I went out for Chinese. We have been doing this for quite a few years. I had scallops with veggies.
The kids are downstairs playing Wii and DH and I are up in the kitchen having Folgers Vanilla Biscotti coffee. We just stay home and have a quiet New Years Eve. My MIL always buys us a bottle of Martini and Rossi Asti for Christmas and we open it at midnight on new years eve. This year I may have a sip to keep up the tradition.I haven't had alcohol since pre-op last January. Never really drank very much though, maybe a glass of wine every few months.
The last time Dh and I went out with friends was New Years Even 1991 ! It was the same day I found out I was pregnant with our son.
We are going to get out Up Words out now and play for a while.
So, what's everyone out there doing tonight.

Mary

Carmen,
I see you have a cruise countdown ticker. I need to get one. We're going on another Disney Cruise. Even though my kids are 12 and 16 they love Disney Cruises. It's not the Disney theme that draws us there, its the friendly crew and the cleanliness. My son knows the cruise director and is on a first name basis with him. With all the kids that come and go on the cruise, he (cruise director) also remembers DS's name everytime we go.
I think after 5 cruises they also like that they know their way around the ship. We also have Thanksgiving 2009 already booked.
Have a great time.

My college age son is in the kitchen with a Tyler Florence recipe, cooking dinner for DH and I. I won't be able to eat but two bites so it really is for him and his dad. I will probably hit the sack at about 9PM as I have to be to work at 6am for a 12 hr shift. It is just miserable if you are exhausted.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Happy New Year Mary and everyone!

I am doing my usual babysitting a couple of grand kids.   We are hoping the baby goes to sleep so Lexi and I can play some more wii!    Lexi is 7 and we have spent most of her years together on New Years Eve.     Greg is already in bed.  We are such party animals!

Candy sent me some pics of when we were in Pittsburgh and  I thought I really had lost alot then.  I can't believe the difference in you and I from pittsburgh to now.

Have a fun night everyone!

Aaaahhhh    The Good Life....   I'm not babysitting, I'm supervising my three year old grandson as he plays in the kitchen sink.  He LUVS the sprayer.  Yes, it does look like the ark could float in there but its only water and the kitchen does need a good cleaning. lol

He is spending the night with me.  His folks were not planning on going out but since I came and took him home with me they decided to go out for a bit... probably dinner.

Tomorrow he will help me with breakfast of pancakes and bacon.  Then we will be off to the park in the rain... yes, as a Seattlelite I will be using an umbrella.... I know, I know,  unheard of for natives.

I  have sooo much sewing to get back on top of that I will be house bound for a while... lol

No matter where you are and what you are doing...  you are there and doing it.

ENJOY  ENJOY  ENJOY

Here were my choices:

1) Party at a co-workers.  I love her to death. She's 40, never married, lovely and always invites me... and sometimes I go.  Tonight, single son, went in my place.

2)  Slumber Party at one of the people on the Texas Message Board.  I think TerryT is there and I'm sorry I'm going to miss that.

3)  One of our 'gals' at $4 had a table at the W and invited anyone that wanted to go.  The W is the hottest ticket in town for NYE.  She's an architect, from Hong Kong and wears Versache.  I could have figured something to wear out and made it work, I'm sure... from the $8 Fashion Outlet.

My decision was:

I'm staying home.  I was elated that I had gone 12 hours diarrhea-free since December 22.... but alas, at the 12th hour.... HI HONEY I'M BACK.

I've been lethargic, upset tummy, and sat on the uh, chair in the bathroom all night last night with a pillow so I could sleep.  Looks like tonight is the same.  Dr. said to take 2 aspirin and call him in the morning....:)  No, really... take some Imodium and drink a lot of liquids but if it kept me up all night tonight, I'm to go to the ER in the morning for an IV.

I'm drinking hot tea (I know, I know)... got on my jammies.. certainly know it's not the ones I'll be in by morning....:)  Have the tv to crime shows... love true murders....:)

Sigh... NYE...alone... naturally.

But everyone enjoy.  2009 could prove to be a good year.

I believe it just shows how mature we are and can enjoy our lives differently than when we were younger.  I am babysitting - Mattie is asleep in her crib and Steele is wanting me to sit on the couch and watch the umpteenth episode of Josh and Drake...  Melissa and Millie, I don't know how you feel, but these babies are my joy!  and I can't think of anywhere else I would rather be tonight.  I am sure you are enjoying your babies, too.

I hope to sleep late in the morning and then I have got to tackle the *Junk Room*... no other big plans.  I will exercise some and get my mind straight for the coming year.

Janet - what is this about all the diarrhea??  Maybe I missed your post about the problem, but this doesn't sound good.  Sleeping on your throne can't be comfortable.

Take care - we have a new day tomorrow and the beginning of a new year.  I am excited...
