Yes Debbie Extra Nice~~~~  You've come to the right place. Welcome, Welcome.  I am fairly new myself....Lap RNY on Nov. 19th.  This site was listed in the binder ( I call it my WLS Bible) that my surgeon gives his patients.  You'll find yourself feeling like you know these fine ladies and gentlemen and they become like close friends.  We all post our happy times, our sorrowful times and just general conversation.  If I don't get a chance to log into OFF every day, I feel I'm missing out and have to get back on here and get caught up.  Like someone else posted, the Main Forum can get nasty, judgemental and down right ridiculous at times.  You'll find none of that here.  We're here to help one another and to help ourselves in this journey that we all have embarked on.  Again Welcome Off "Sister".

Yes, Debbie, there are a lot of us who have become addicted to Food Network.  I didn't even know it existed before my RNY over two years ago.  Now it's the first thing I look at when I turn on the TV, and the last thing that's on before I shut it off.  It doesn't seem to make me feel hungry.  I just love looking at all the food, and occasionally learning some new recipes or tricks.

Weird, huh?

Welcome.

Candy

I can't  add much to what's already been said.  Maybe it's because we're older, we've had enough drama in our lives and know how hard life can be sometimes.  Whatever it is, I very much admire the support from this board.  Yes, we will be honest and call someone who's engaging in harmful behavior, but we do it with enough tact so that the person knows we care.  I'm afraid some of the other boards have too many Colonel Jessups for my taste.  (For those who might be unaware of the Colonel Jessup reference just think of the nasty Colonel in A Few Good Men [Jack Nicholson] screaming YOU WANT THE TRUTH?  YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!)  I may not post often, but this board is a must read.

Hey Debbie!  Welcome.  I'm so happy to have a fellow KY gal, like myself, to join here.  Although, we might have to discuss this U of L thingy, hahaha.  UK wildcat fan here.  Although I now live in Littleton, Colorado, KY is still home.  I wish you much success in your journey of weight loss.  Everyone here on this board has been so helpful in my own journey.
Take care and I hope to hear from you often.
Pat

You only check the board once a day?  My wife thinks I am crazy.

I work overnight.  I get home at 7AM.  And go right to the computer to see what I missed from 6AM when I left work.  I check here and the Texas Message Board.

Go to bed by 8.  Get up at 2PM and check both boards.  Go into withdrawal on my way to part time job because I do not have internet there any more.  Get to full time job at 9:30PM, check both boards.  Then lurk all night while I work.

I guess it is an addiction.

Now to you.  Glad you are here.  The more the merrier.  Every one here is pretty nice, bu****ch out for Marc.  LOL

Follow your doctors orders.  Period.  He knows what he is doing.  And do not be afraid to ask him questions.  He gets paid to answer them.

Follow the diet.  Follow the rules (no soda, no straws, etc).  Do that, and you will do fine.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
