Heart scan - testing for problems

Did you have this test? If so, where? This test is not invasive, and I would like to start with this. It takes about ten minutes, and after the test, the results are given to you by a radiologist. No referral is needed. My experience in Ontario, where I live, is that the results would be sent back to my doctor and I would have to speak to him. My doctor is not easy to deal with; I would like to change doctors, but you know how difficult that would be.

I do not know of this test, although I know there is one like that, in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan. So it is probably the same. You make an appointment, have the test and they mail the results to you. It only comes there a couple of times a year. You can scanned for the heart, or head, respitory etc. When My friend had it done, he was o.k, but if there was a problem, he would have to see your own Doctor, and get referred to a cardiologist. It sounds like a good idea for you, under the cir****tances, easier to pay and hopefully get a good result to be used to take to your surgeon, when you get one.
My cir****tances were different, as it was emergency, so had the ECG, the Echo cardiogram, same as the stress test I think, I ended up with angioplasty, etc. and was rigged up to monitors, that same doctor gave me the "GO AHEAD" for the surgery. He said "No Problem" I am a bit worried, though.
I am Canadian, and going to Traverse City Mi for my surgery Jan.23/2009!
It took about nine months to get all testing and visits to Traverse City, required sleep apena test, colonostopy, the seminar, consultation, visit with their dietician. I am happy know that I did all the tests, especially the bloodwork, and poop, urine tests, etc. It gives me more Peace of Mind.
There is the Munson Medical Center on line also Barix if you need to see any of their ifo. You probably alread have. Most do not need all the tests I have had, I had more because of my age 66.

It's a clinic in Southfield Michigan that I am going to - about 60 miles from me. They make appointments one week to ten days ahead of time (all year long) and the results are given to the patient by a radiologist at the time of testing - no going back to my doctor to find out and no long wait to get in. The test is noninvasive and over in about ten minutes. I like the concept of being able to set this up and not depend on my MD to do it.

My MD sent off the OHIP application for OOC, but he had a patient who lost his/her memory after wls and will not advocate on my behalf for the surgery, so I'm pretty much on my own.
