Happy NEW Years Eve! What is new?

Good morning.  What a crappy 24 hours I have had, but I will get over it.  Family problems that I may have created.  Problems with employees at my part time job (fighting with each other - almost literally).  Then, another employee passing out and resulting in a 911 call.  What excitement.  Don't need it though.

Annette - Love my Bullet.  Using it these days for Smoothies and omelots

Vera - Hope your Mom is doing better

Grammylew and Paulette - Enjoy that grandkid time.  It is precious

Pat - Marley and Me was a good flick.  There were lots of laughs leading up to the tears, they did a good job with it.

Barb - Deep breath.  New Year coming right up.  New attitude.  You are in control even if the temptation is still there.

Monica - One day at a time

Karen - Bundle up.  You don't need to be sick

Debbie - By back to work, do you me work work, or knitting?

Carla - So sorry to hear about your cancer.  Prayers for you.

Eileen - Make sure you take care of yourself.  Even if Brenda is there too.  That is so sweet of her.

Connie - Do people still actually do Thank You cards?  Isn't there a website where you can just type a list of names and they do it?

Betsy - I know it is hard throwing away perfectly good food.  But good for you for doing it.

Sandy - continued success in your weight loss journey

Karen - Don't sweat it, you will be fine with the grandkids

Judy - good luck with that pouch test.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Good Morning from Kennewick, WA!

Took down "Christmas"  yesterday. Enjoyed it while it was in the house, but home sure looks more spacious with everything put away. Of course after everything was neatly tucked away in storage I found a strand of lights hanging from a bedpost! Always find one or two things after I have finished. . .

Mike and I went to Home Depot, Big Lots, and the Dollar store and then had a Burger King Dollar menu dinner. Two Whopper Juniors, 1 small fry, a pop for him, and water for me. We don't do that often but what a cheap meal. 1/2 a Whopper for me, three fries, and water. He got the rest. Grand total was under $5.00!

TOPS weigh in this morning. I know the scale will give me a reality check and I need it. I've purged the house of junk, the snow is gone,  the walking trail is clear, moving forward to the new year in a positive take care of me direction.

Wishing you all a prosperous, positive, full of life, love, and living 2009!

George - thank you for the colorful wrap up this morning.
We are taking Tom's son Ron and his wife out to dinner tonight to celebrate his birthday. Ron always says that the whole world celebrates his birthday. Yay - I get to wear heels and all fancied up.

It is snowing hard this morning. Ugh! If it doesn't let up soon, I am not going to work. My job involves taking the clients into the community, which is a big responsibility. I don't worry about my driving, I drive slowly ... like an old woman. It's the other crazy drivers who give me concern.

Happy New Year to ALL

Thanks George, it was so nice to see a recap...and Happy New Year to all my OFF friends...

I must have missed a post yesterday about one of your furbabies bringing you a present, Annette?   I looked twice and didn't see anything....well Miss Fluffy did that a lot when she was being let outside, now she is confined to the house so no more presents unless she finds a critter in the garage!!

It did my heart good to see all the support and well wishes for Carla, after her news....she was very upset when she called me yesterday afternoon.....it's a devestating blow to hear the word cancer, but this kind is very treatable and has excellent success for recovery.  I know we will all keep her and Carl in our prayers.

Off to work this morning, then a memorial service for a dear church member (our oldest at 98), and to a celebration service at church at 6 and a euchre tournament at 7....so a full day for me.

Both my sister and younger brother, Steve, came to visit yesterday afternoon.....then DS came returning my van, so I had company ALL afternoon....it was great!

Need to make a birthday card for neighbor Bette, then get a shower and breakfast.

My prayer for each and everyone of my OFF friends is that 2009 will be one of good health, much happiness, and prosperity.  God Bless you all.

Love,
Pat R.

Hi George and Everyone,

George, I'm sorry to hear your year end is not so good.  Get it over with in 2008 and bring on a new and positive 2009!

We got to babysit our grandson last night.  His parents wanted to go out to dinner alone and didn't want to be out on New Year's Eve.  He's 2 1/2 and absolutely precious.  We played cars and cars and more cars.   He got to eat dinner on a tray in the living room and he thought that was alot of fun!  Hubby fell asleep in his chair and our little grandson thought that was so odd!  LOL  He just stared at him while he slept sitting up.  After a day at work it was tiresome but such fun.

Planning a quiet evening at home tonight after work again today.  Absolutely nothing else to share.  I wish each and every one joy and promise with the start of our new year.  Special thoughts are with Carla today and anyone else who needs them.

Hard to believe this is the last day of 2008.  Looking forward to sharing your adventures in the new year!

Kathi

Hi George and all!
Thanks for the recap George! I meant ME get back to work!  LOL!  I am "off" today.  From work that is, mentally no more OFF then normal!  no work tomorrow either but am working Friday and Saturday.
I used up a lot of left over turkey yesterday by making a yummy turkey noodle soup.  Gary came over for dinner and at 2 bowls of it!  it turned out pretty good if I say so myself.  I still have the other turkey to slice up and divide between my son and I.  It will be good in casseroles and soups too.  I eat a lot of soup but can get a lot of protein into it too along with needed veggies so it works well.  After dinner Gary and I talked a long time about religion and politics.  I know 2 things we aren't supposed to talk about!  LOL we covered a lot of topics in that!  It was a very pleasent evening hanging out with a friend.
I think today will be a lazy day, knitting and doing just little bits of piddly things.  the family get together is this Saturday so I will clean tomorrow and HOPE it stays cleaned up until Saturday evening!  I need to find a cheap way to do larger drawings for pictionary game.  I looked at some of those post it hanging things and they were pretty pricy.  We may be able to borrow the dry erasable board from church, I'll ask pastor......
hope this last day of 2008 finds us all in a peaceful state with optimism and hope for the coming year,  I know many of us are going thru trials, tribulations, sadness, mourning, and pain.  Lets remember that we are all here for each other and make a resolution to share more here with our OFF breathern, together we can make a difference.  Hugs, love and good wishes to us all for the coming year!
Love to all! Welcome 2009!

Good Morning George and my OFF Family,

George, I hope that your New Year will start off without all of the drama of the end of the old year!

George thanks for the good wishes for Mom. She had a severe allergic reaction to one of the medications she was just put on.  I had to go over and get all of that medication out of the house because she will forget and take it again.  I have a sister (50 yo) and a brother (45 yo) who live with her and call me to come over and fill her weekly meds container up because they "can't figure it out".   Errrrrrrr!!!!  Sometimes I want to bop them up beside their lazy head and say really ugly things.  (Jason being a sailor for 24 years has given me a very colorful language that I really try not to use! LOL)  And this too shall pass!

We have a new dog, Geovanni is a 2 year old Maltese.  He was a kennel dog and is not house trained or nutered.  We are crate training him and he is high maintenance!  We walked around my house 20 times yesterday and my hips hurt today!  He is going to up my exersize for sure.  That can be a good thing!  Our 16 yo poodle is not impressed.  She is ignoring him for the most part.  I wish she would train him! lol

Well my son and the 4 grandchildren are arriving today to spend a few days visiting my 80 yo mother and MIL.  Neither are in the best of health.  So I gotta get things ready for them.

Ya'll have a great New Year and let's all leave the junk behind in the old year!

Hugs,

went to the vitamin shop here looking for the pure protein shakes and they have them there for $2.79. they have several different flavors so have to wait til i get paid and buy some. i plan on using them for my 5 day pouch test for the liquid only days.

been using the pre-natal vitamins that phyllis gave me and they have stool softner in them and i am finding out i do NOT need that at all!!! man i can hardly make it to the potty without having an accident!!!! guess i will just keep taking what i used to take since bc/bs refused to pay for them anymore because i am to old...GRRRR

Hard to believe that it is almost 2009. I hope it is better economically than 2008. I am very willing to work extra to pay off all of these bills, there just is no extra to work. My husband gets so depressed and I look so hard for extra work. Part of me is still very very tired all of the time. My surgeon says that is normal for the first 3-4 months after surgery.
Got to get off this computer and go on in to work. Just working on a project, nothing that will pay extra.
Youngest kid is still hanging around here. I can tell because food disappears, I see his coat, the TV channels aren't were I left them. I don't actually see him unless i ask him to stay home. He is gone when I get home from work and doesn't get home until long after i am asleep. I love him dearly but will be glad when he goes back to school.
Anyone have some great ideas about how to keep patients from getting up by themselves and falling? Or pulling stuff out? That is my project, to fix this problem. We had been using NAs to sit with each patient that was a problem in these ways. Unfortunately this is costing us an unreal amount of money and we have to stop. We don't want anyone to hurt themselvs but can't afford millions of dollars each year in extra staff to accomplish this.  OH well, I will figure it out.

Happy new year to you all!
Cheryl
