Aloha and CONGRATULATIONS!! Oh, please keep those size 22W pants to compare yourself with in a year or so. I did NOT do that and I am so sorry now. I wanted to get RID of any evidence of my obesity and that was a mistake. Now everything in my closet is size 10, small, and even petite! You are on your way to that very place.........and I could not be happier for you.

Karen, you are soooo lucky to be in Hawaii.  Wish I lived there.  Congrats on your magnificient weight loss, what an accomplishment.  Now, tell me this, is it easy to maintain?  I don't think I'll ever be a size 10.  I'm 5'8", and have big bones I think.  I think if I can get down to a 12-14 missy size, I would be fine.  And yes, I will keep those fat jeans, as a reminder of what I was and never will be again.  :)   Thanks for sharing your story with me.  amy

Aloha again Amy......I am tall, 5'11" and never thought I'd get back down to a 12/14 let alone and 8!!! Don't set any barriers for yourself......you may be surprised. I think I was one of the lucky ones who this surgery worked for very well, and I do not have trouble (so far) maintaining my weight. In fact, there are people who say I need to gain 20 lbs to look healthy, so I don't fret over 5 lbs. gained, but then if I do anything physical, those 5 go away again fast.

Hawaii is a gift and I am thankful every day. lived in Santa Cruz and about 15 years ago decided when I retired I wanted to move to Maui...and began saving toward that, and magically it happened. I live in a very small condo, but it is on the beach and I feel like I live on the beach and don't need much space. I sit on my lanai and watch the whales playing in the bay. It doesn't get much better than that.

Good luck in your journey to slimness, health and fitness. It will be fun to watch you slide down the scale.
