I Just had to Share some news....
Hi everyone. Many of you wont know me, but some may remember me. I used to post here all the time before and right after my surgery. I still lurk and read every day, and enjoy all your news, I just never take the time to post. Im maintaining pretty well, have gained a tad but will get it off,,not much so Im not stressing.
Anyway, I just had to tell someone my news!
24 years ago I lost contact with my only living sister. I have searched everywhere and everyway to no avail. Well, the other day I get on the internet and was searching again for my son who has been missing for 9 years. No luck, so before logging off I thought I would try one more time to find my sis. I was so shocked when her name and address popped up in Evansville Indiana...just 2 hours from where I live! I just stared at the screen! My heart was thumping like I was dumping on sugar,,and I decided to call information and get her number. I finally worked up the nerve and called her,,and lo and behold, it really was her and she had been wondering what had happened to me! She hadnt had a phone or computer so she couldnt search like I could, and she had no phone number till recently, thats why I couldnt find her. She lives totally alone, is 70 years old, healthy and very active. We were so excited, we talked for five solid hours, until my cordless phone died! I went to Evansville and spent a weekend with her a few weeks ago, and we sat up two whole days and talked and laughed and cried. We would fall asleep for a few hours, then wake up and talk some more!
Now we are making arrangements for her to move here into an apartment about a mile from me in April, and we are so excited we can hardly wait! We were not raised tog ether, as we are only half sisters, having had the same mom and different dads. We met when I was 11, she was the beautiful older sister. We kept in contact for many years, writing often, and visited a few times. Then she moved to Oklahoma and we lost touch.
I just wanted to share that story, it sure made for a happy holiday for this family. She was amazed at my weight loss, and so excited for me in that aspect. She said she would never have recognized me onthe street, that mademe feel good.LOL
Hope you all had blessed holidays,,I certainly did. He gave me an unexpected gift this year,,
Blessings
Betsy

"For I know the plans I have for you ," declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Betsy, I am so happy for both you and your sister. That had to be so exciting for you both. Things happen in the Lord's time and not ours. He has no calendars or watches. It comes in His time and His time only, and that is when everything is ready including the people in the plans. Your siganture says it all.
May His blessings be upon you and your son when the time is right to find him.
I am so happy that the void your sister left in your life has now been filled. Great things are going to happen to you since it has been.
