What's New Wednesday 12/24/08?
I believe Angus has his days and nights mixed up, or he is getting "old man's disease" (prostate problems) he has had to go outside every day this week between 1 and 3 AM! Not making for a happy mom let me tell you!
So, news from me, may need a new furnace THIS year or early next. Not happy about that but what are you going to do? houses need furnaces if they have forced air heat!
I'm done working for the week and am hostessing Christmas dinner for family tomorrow. Will spend today finishing the cleaning process and starting to make food ahead of time leaving tomorrow for the turkey etc.
Kittens are making minimal progress and while I know I tried, I believe they will be looking for a barn home this spring.
I've been knitting and reading inbetween cleaning etc and have actually been reading some books my mother gave me, I then pass them forward to others. This group is by Dorothy Garlock and am enjoying them.
So that's about it with me. I did have my 3 year visit with the surgeons PA this week, still no ideas about the belly pain issue, but I don't expect any. I suspect it is a spasm of the pouch or adhesions and I am not looking for another surgery by any means.
Think I will head back to bed YAWN! be back later, TALK ON!

Good morning Debbie and all you other OFFers.
Here it is Christmas Eve. A little sadness in the family, as my son had to have the puppy put down. The vet could not save him. $1400 later. I feel so bad for them.
But time to move on. Today will be a busy one for me. My daughter asked us to join her at church. So we will. Her service is at 4PM. I will get up at 1:30 or so, get dressed and head on out. After that we can go back home so I can nap.
Mary and I are opening our presents to each other when I get home from work this morning. And we did all our other family presents last Saturday. So Christmas will be over. And we can concentrate on the real reason for the season.
I am looking forward to my personal challenge of reading the Bible through. I will be successful this time. I know the hard part will be when I am in Las Vegas and not around to be held accountable by my OH friends, here and on the TMB.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
I have absolutely no idea how this post thing works, it's very different from other groups I belong to..... However I have been told I can find some help, good advice and nice friendly people so I'm giving it a try. Now will I ever find you all again...who knows...but I will try..bet on that.
My name is Kate, married for 45 years, 3 kids all grown and 2 grandkids that are still growing.
I finally got out of the rat race, I was a business owner, Hubby a retired NY PO, so we bought a farm (sounds funny huh) I love animals and it was always my dream to have some other then dogs, so now I have dogs, some barn cats, horses , goats and pea****s...Unfortunatley I got so darn fat I couldn't enjoy them anymore...Enter theCooperstown bariatric team and here I am. Had RNY 10-14-08, I've lost around 70 pounds so far (thats including 20 pre-op pounds) Had no pain, gas or any other problems I've heard about...and thats about it...My life in a nutshell...
I look forward to getitng to know everyone...Can someone give me a clue how I find you again?
Guess you'll know if I find you tomorrow LOL
Hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas, mine seems to go on and on for weeks as kids come and go.
Hugs to all...

Short version: nephew and wife split, she had custody & left the country, came back, left the 4 year old with Mom and left for a vacation. The other Grandma called nephew and said "come get her NOW". My sister and nephew had been told they couldn't have little one, now she is theirs.
My sister has MS and isn't very mobile. She wants to have a special holiday for her only grandchild. So ... off I go to load up on gifts.
Let's see how I manage to squeeze everything into this day which was already scheduled to the last second.
Seasons Greetings
Annette

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

You surely are a Christmas Angel. What a wonderful "Auntie" you are. This is what the season is truly all about. I can see her wrapped in warm snuggly Jammies at her Gramma's house with wonderful memories of Christmas.
Reality check... a 4 year old who is "left" while mom is on vacation and pawned off by Gramma isn't exactly going to have the best memories..... Prayers are going up for her and your sister & nephew.

When I called my brother, who is also disabled, he said if I would do the shopping, he would put in $$$ too.
My great niece is going to have one memorable Christmas this year. Sales the day before Christmas are outstanding. My car was loaded to the roof. I am tired but feel satisfied.
We should say our prayers for the mother and other grandma too. They have missed out.
Kisses

Merry Christmas, dear Annette.........I love your spirit!!
