What's new with you? It's MONDAY!!!!
Yesterday was great. We went to Old Navy at 7 AM and Mary and I both got $5 off coupons. So we both bought shirts. Mary's came to $1, mine to $5. Then we went to another Old Navy and got another coupon each. Bought 2 more shirts.
From there it was breakfast at Bayley's. The company was wonderful. Vivian provided SF cookies for everyone. Delish!!! The only downer for my whole day was when breakfast did not come. Mary and I ordered first and everyone else had their's and we were still waiting. Cancelled our order because we had to get to my son's house for dinner.
At my son's house, we exchanged gifts, then ate dinner. I knew what I was getting from my daughter, because I told her there was one thing I wanted and I was not going to tell anyone else. So I got my large print Bible. It is a parallel Bible, NIV and The Message. That is really good because our pastor uses The Message.
We played a couple of games of Apples to Apples. Lots of fun. If you can read you can play.
Then came time to leave and go to the Texas Message Board Black and White Dinner (and Christmas gift exchange). It was at Mercardo Juarez, a Mexican restaurant nearby. We were there for 4 1/2 hours. Had a great time. They did the Chinese gift exchange where gifts could be stolen instead of choosing a gift. They had a limit of two steals per item, then it was frozen.

I knitted all day and never once went outside. I just opened and shut the door for the dogs. Way too cold for me, but it sure is pretty outside.
Tomorrow I am seeing my PCP and hoping to get from him my application for WLS so that I can send it in and, hopefully, be approved so that I can look and feel as good as all of you. This has taken a long time, and my doctor has not proven to be much help. Please keep me in your thoughts tomorrow. I really need this surgery.
Have a great day and keep warm. Whenever it's this cold, I think of the song, "Bless the Beasts and the Little Children". I sure hope that there are no beasts or children having to suffer this freezing weather.

it's 0* here and i really really wanna just go back to bed! can't tho-
had our Christmas yesterday at my daughter's and it was wonderful! i hope her boyfriend isn't upset with how loud 5 lil ones can get!!!the lil ones were a riot -all of them! it was so great to have my 3 kids all together in one place- tho my eldest basically didn't say a word to anyone- typical of him--and i so miss his old personality--he was there and that was important!he never let on that he is unemployed and so i didn't say a word.....
the kids all loved their hats and scarves-aidan (3 and the only boy) was a doll baby- put his hat on right away with absolutely no prompting and left it on for a long time! draped the scarf around his neck and continued opening gufts! baby rose (almost 2) kept trying to take off her pretty red dress to try on things - she got pants and shirts and was sure she had to put them on right away!
we took lots of pics and i have to get mine developed!
we were home by 6 and i hit the couch- got up at 8 and went to bed!!! i think it's all emotion tired!!!good tired tho.....
thanks all for the prayers and kind words for gramma...she is getting her antibiotics etc-and not sure when she will be released -that infection was into her bloodstream....
anyhow- today is work and that is about it!

George, you and Mary got quite a buy yesterday. Good for you both. Busy day as well and fun too. We play that kind of gift exchange every year at our work Christmas party. It can be lots of fun.
Quiet day yesterday for me. Wrapped the last of the gifts. Made a roast with carrots and baked sweet potato for hubby. It was good but the roast is now not my favorite. Go figure. Talked to both my kids yesterday. My daughter was very happy her hubby gets to come home for a long weekend for Christmas. He would normally have to work the Friday after Christmas but his boss was nice enough to let him off. He's working 3 hours away from home. He will be home in time to attend Christmas Eve service at church and that makes her very, very happy. When my kids are happy, I am happy!
My son reports that our little grandson is doing very well after his ear surgery. Phew. Talked to our little grandson on the phone and he is his bubbly chatty self.
Back to work for me today as I was off on Friday. I only work 3 days this week so I'll have to work a little fast! Hope everyone has a great Monday. Stay warm and safe. Keeping Eileen in prayers today that this surgery solves the problem. Fingers are definitely crossed. Special hugs to all in need.

Do we have two threads going? I saw one from Brenda too. Oh, well, I'll post on both. I can have clear liquids, which means coffee and water, till 9:45 a.m. Took my shower and washed my hair, so I'm ready to go ... it's cold and still snowing here but at least the wind has died down and the visibility has improved. One of my neighbors called yesterday ... she lives in the other corner unit. She needed to borrow cake pans and offered to shovel my walk in exchange. So I gave her my silicone round cake pans. She shoveled my walk as I let her in and we talked for awhile. She's very nice. We had at least a foot of snow yesterday, so now we have nearly two feet since Friday.
I'm eager for surgery and to get rid of this pain. I know there will be more pain before I'm pain-free. But at least this should be a solution (I hope!).

I LOVE coupons! Except when they prompt me to buy things I don't really HAVE to have, but I have a coupon so I get it!
Saturday was our neighbor/friend/family Christmas party at my house. We had 25 people here. It was 70 and sunny all day. Turned chilly and poured rain the entire time of the party! Our son put an awning up over the back patio, so the smokers were still able to go out to puff, and the drinks were out there in ice chests. We had TONS of food, and most of it got eaten. I sent some left overs home with the ones who went over to another neighbor's house to play poker. They all left about 11:30. We had a gift exchange for everyone and a Chinese exchange for the adults (everyone over 17).
Yesterday was putting tables away, cleaning, getting trash to the street. You know the usual after party things. The ladies had done most of the clean up before they left, and the men had gathered up most of the trash. Son and his fam came for leftover lunch (about all I had left here was nacho makin's). The younger grandson stayed the night. I'm sure he'll be here most of Christmas break.
Out oldest grandson called to say he had given his girlfriend an engagement ring. He SAYS it will be a year before they get married. But you know how impatient kids can be! We haven't met the girl yet. Kevin is 20 and she is 24 and has 2 kids. So, when they get married I will be an INSTANT great grandmother! I called my Momma this AM to tell her she would be a GREAT GREAT Grandma. I figured I'd share the joy!
Today I have to go to the Commissary and get the turkey for Christmas. My DH would also like a small ham. Sounds like another week of cooking and cleaning! I am in seventh heaven!
The good thing about entertaining is - I never have the time to eat! I was down a pound this morning! Yippee!! Hooray!!

wow seems like i have been gone forever from here!!! been working and getting last minute things done around here for christmas and all so not much time for the pc...went to kmart friday night to get something and it was nasty weather here...got out of my car and got to the back of it and down i went!!! slipped on some blac****!!! i have a nice bruise on the side of my left hip and my left arm is sore from the elbow to the shoulder. i am in pain thats for sure!!! atleast i didn't break anything!!! when we got in kmart i told them i fell in the parking lot and this is what they told me... "oh you need to go home and rest!!!" can you believe that???? not are you ok or can we do anything for you....just go home and rest!!!! sighs.....went to work saturday in big pain and while taking a pizza out of the oven i dropped it on the floor!!! couldn't grab it with other hand because i didn't have another oven mit on it...but i did make it through all weekend and it sure was a mad house even at the food court!!!! wow!!! i am off today and then working tuesday 8-130 then wednesday 1-6. i did get off for the trip to michigan. mom is really excited to having me come see her. its the weather she is worried about me traveling in!!! michigan has alot of snow and still not done yet. its bad here right now also. i told her i am watching the weather channel for whats to come and if it is going to be bad i won't come. but i WILL go see her no matter what!!! right now the weather here is COLD!!! last i saw it was 10 above with wind chill of 4 below!!! and let me tell you it IS cold out there!!!!! i know its not as cold as some places are but here its cold!!!!! i can't get warm!!! its also snowing and blowing to beat the band!!! also while talking to mom last night she mentioned that lori (garys daughter) thought we would be staying at the house while we were there to see mom...yeah right!!!! like i want to go back in there?? HELL NO!!!!!!! like rick said when i told him this she would find a way to say we stole something out of there....besides there isn't any water on and she is having the heat turned off next week. but still no thanks!!! i don't even want to be anywhere near lori after what she did to me. and i told mom if she came over there while we were there we would leave. so hopefully she will tell lori to stay away from there while we are there. my older brother bill is making an effort now to meet rick...he is cooking us dinner saturday night!!! wow!!! told rick he is really trying to be nice!!! after all he did say i was an idiot for packing up and leaving michigan!!! so we will see how things go...hope my other brother stops over moms to see us. as for my sister...i really don't care if she stops by or not.
ricks mom stopped over here saturday before i went to work. she said she was going to store to get what rick needed...(what is missing she has to replace...we still think she took it back to the store for the money) so anyhow she also informed us that joe (ricks brother) isn't coming here for christmas because of his dad (jerry...ricks step dad) and also that she isn't coming either because she will be going to joes!!! i told her if thats the case they can both KMA!!! after she asked what we would do for christmas and i said we would have it here...all was settled then and now nobody is showing up here. so it will be just me and rick for christmas. not sure what his daughter will be doing. seems she got into another car accident last week and not sure if she can drive anymore...this is 2 accidents n less than a year and she is a new driver. her mother (the dummy) let her take the car to go pick up a girlfriend in the ice storm we were having the other night!!! so stupid to let her do that!!! sighs...so anyhow...diane never came back with the gift she had to replace...i told rick she probably didn't do it....he said she better have it replaced or else. hope this gift is worth the fighting they are doing because of it!!!

ps forgot to tell you about my early christmas present i asked for...rick gave me one of the gifts i asked for...a dresser for my clothes!!! i now have a dresser to put my things in and i am no longer living out of my suit cases!!!!!!! made me so happy to see i have a dresser for my things now i cried!!! he makes me so happy!!!! i love him sooo very much!!! so that now makes 2 gifts he has given me before christmas!!! (real diamond ring he gave me last week was the first :> )

Morning to all my OFF family. I hope that this Christmas Eve eve eve is good to all.
It is so cold out you don't even want to look out the door. It is -5 and is not suppose to get much warmer. It never got warmer here yesterday than -3 and it was so windy. The winds got to 40 mph. The sun is out this morning and so it looks warmer than it really is.
I have to take my sister to the insurance company, the bank, Walgreens and K Mart this morning. I hope that is it. I just want to stay at home but no such luck for me. I am going to have to go start the car in about 20 minutes to let it warm up and then I have to be there at 9:15 because the appointment is at 9:30.
I didn't get any shopping done yesterday because when we got to Wal Mart the lights went out. They herded everyone out of the store since the cameras weren't on and they didn't know if people were shop lifting. Knowing the way they were when I worked there they were. That place has a lot of shop lifting. I am so glad that I don't have to deal with that anymore. I remember one day that I told the security that one person was suspicious and sure enough they caught him doing it.
I got the topic changed for Mouthwatering Monday. I blamed it on the holiday stress. That sounded like the best excuse for me at the time. ha ha :-)
I better get going. The cold wintry weather is calling me.....it is saying "Come on out you sucker you!! You dum dum sucker at that!". I hear it as plain as day.
I hope that everyone is having a great day and make sure you stay warm if you are in this terrible stuff. If you are shoveling sun like our Carla is doing make sure you send some up to the places that need it. I am sending love and hugs to everyone and special prayers are going up for everyone.

I am doing well, maintaining my weight loss give or take ten pounds. Its not always easy, but I dont stress about it. Im so thankful for this new lifestyle that Im not gonna let anything get out of hand, I just keep going back to basics when I gain a bit.
Today its 1 degree here with a wind chill of -17. so its cold! I will be baking this morning to take things to my daughters, we are having Christmas with them tonight, then they are leaving for Michigan tomorrow for Christmas with the son in laws family. We are having chili tonight, so I can handle that. Its my favorite food since surgery.
I already received on gift this year..we got a new car. Well, its not brand new but new to us,,its a 2003 Cadillac. Pearl white, has On Star and everything. I love it. Our old convertible leaked like crazy and as a result, smelled damp and musty. I was so embarrassed to drive it.
I do have some news though, if anyone even remembers me! LOL I had lost contact with my only living sister 24 years ago,,well, after years of searching the internet, I found her about a month ago! Funny thing was, she was only 2 hours away all this time! I went and spent the weekend with her and we talked nonstop for 2 days! We would doze for an hour or two and then wake up and start talking again. We had so much to catch up on! We are getting together the weekend after Christmas, Im taking her a computer and going to teach her how to use it. Then we can email. She was absolutely blown away at the way I look now, I was always the overweight sister. She was so proud of me.That was a great Christmas present too!
Still no word of my son, hes been missing for 9 years now. I keep searching.
Well, I ve got baking to do and errands to run.
