 Good Morning everyone.
Here I sit at 4:30 in the morning wide awake. My son is driving up from N. Carolina with his 4 girls.
He did call & stopped at a hotel at about midnight. It was snowing & he was getting tired.
Between worrying & the pain of having kidney stones I can't sleep. I am so excited about them coming.
They range in age fron 4 to 10. They will be here until about Jan. 2nd. I do think he is brave by making the trip by himself with the girls. Hopefully I will get a nap before he gets here.

I've been up since about 4:30 myself. I was having some pain in my hip. We had rain yesterday and that always makes it act up. I need to start doing some of my Christmas baking today so I won't have so much to do Christmas Eve. I'm making goodie tins for the family this year. So I've got to get started. I may as well go do it now. Hope everyone has a great day. Teresa

Good morning!!

Well, I've only had 3.5 hours sleep. Wide awake.  Getting ready to head for $4 this morning and take my gifts for friends.  Guess I need to pop the pumpkin struesel in the oven so I can take it. They don't open until 7:30 on Sundays.

As soon as I can figure out how to shrink these pictures, I've got a picture taken before I left for a WLS Christmas party last night.  Who IS that tiny lady????

Morning Nan, I was awake at 4:30 too.....what's up with that???  I heard the wind blowing and sleety snow hitting my bedroom window....got up and did up a few dishes, and went back to bed, but didn't sleep....It's now 6:30, I'm showered and partially dressed and checking e-mails.

The small choir I got together is performing for the first time at both services today ( 8 & 10:30), so guess I am a little nervous about that, but reherseal went really good, so I'm sure we will do fine. Have 8 good strong voices.

Got all the spiced nuts made yesterday and put into colorful containers.  Have about 1/2 of the bottom border on the fancy Christmas towel to do yet, but will be able to finish that today.....found a place last evening where I messed up, so will need to rip that out and re-do it.....yikes!

We're in for some bitter cold down here in Sturgis, overnite temps below zero...

I'm working M-T-W this week and next so I can have four day weekends.  My DS & DIL are coming tomorrow evening for our Christmas, then they head for the U.P. on Tuesday.  Talked to my brother last nite and he has no plans for Christmas day either, so we may get together and do something?

Better get some breakfast now, need to be at church by 7:30 to have the choir warm up and go thru our song at least once.

Have a blessed day,

Pat R.

P.S. Nancy I hope your DS has safe travel....I  pray for everyone who is traveling during the Christmas holiday.

Good morning Nancy and all of my OFF friends!
Sunday morning!  Haven't written for a few days so this may be a bit long, or it may be short-who knows??? (the SHADOW knows...)
Anyway, went to docs for 3 year visit, all is ok - they have a new office now and I HATE the parking situation (medical center) but I finally got there after a cold, wet, slushy, icy walk.  Have to get lab work of course, will do that tomorrow or Tuesday.  Today it sounds to be sleeting right now, I know it's COLD!  Yesterday I took Daphne to Childrens Wonderland for 4 hours of PPI craft sale and talking with public.  She was whipped afterwards!  Today I need to go to store for Christmas dinner groceries.  I'm having my son, his GF (maybe), my parents and my brother and his family, including their new shar pei puppy Padme.  (female-named after Star Wars Queen Padme mother to Luke and Leah Skywalker)
Should be fun, of course this week I also have to overhaul the formerly clean house and get that ship shape again.
Work has been exciting again, new system go live that I have been helping with - not that I know anything about it, but am showing docs and nursing staff how to access information.
Had to shovel ICY snow off the drive way the other day as my car got stuck at the end of the drive.  UGH< my shoulders are sore now!  I've decided I need a man.  Not for emotional reasons, for house reasons!  LOL  I need a house boy/man.  If it turns into more, great, if not...come fix this and go...LOL!  Oh well.  I wouldn't mind a man to share with either actually.  Maybe Santa will be good this year and bring someone that can handle me!
Take care all, hoping all goes well with Eileens surgery (isn't that soon or was it yesterday?)
Have a good Sunday!

morning!

nan-big hugs to you...
and safe journeys for all those travelling- we worry so much about our kids in good weather!!!

the wind was blowing the ice from the  trees at our house this morning! and hitting our windows like ice cubes! also on the roof! so--i got up and heated a cuppa; got caught up now with yesterday's news ....

i wanted to tell of my day friday-which was not as horrid as annette's! i work in a very old building (court house) and in the basement- we have 1 window in the office and it gets hot ...anyhow- by 9 am our power had gone out twice-boy does that basement office get dark!!!!!!!! at 10 am we were in the dark  totally-til 230 when they finally let us go home--generators gave us some lite in a conference room and we carried paperwork down there to prep for scanning- all of the other offices were just sitting talking..no coffee no radio nothing......at 215 the generators went down ( i have no idea why?) and we went on battery lites over the doors- so they finally sent us home--- michael and i did drive to do plasma- roads were good- and the washing machine fit well in the car....it was very pretty seeing all of the ice on the trees= specially the flowering crab and some others with berries!

i finished the scarf! michael made a weird trip back to findlay yesterday with a neighbor who has a duelly pickup to get us a mattress and springs and frame and bedding-the mattress is standing up in our hallway now- long story..

Doc has been sold- he seems to love his new mommy and daddy and so i am happy- the kitchen seems kinda empty without his cage there!no "nite dockers" in his deep deep bird voice! michael cried....Ruby is missing him.

so we went to the dollar store and bought gift bags and i still ended up wrapping presents- went to bed at almost midnite-this morning i just need to cook the potatoes and kielbasa in the roaster and then load the car- we should be at my daughters by noon--we are having some foods that the kids' gramma would have cooked -daughter is making cabbage and noodles and me the kielbasa and potatoes....will be great to see all of the grands..i realize that i truly do not know rose at all.....

my 90 year old gramma is in the hospital--seems my cousin went to her house and she let him in even tho she didn't have a clue who he was....he noticed she seemed warm as well as the disorientation--(mom said her temp was 107* is that possible???i doubt!can you live with a temp that high????) -she has a bladder infection and some constipation and hasn't been taking her meds- and she is on insulin (for years and years )...she wears one of those help buttons but you have to be conhesive to know that you need help ! hasn't been wearing her hearing aids- ppl from church went by and banged on the door and windows while she napped one day...anyhow- uncle says he'll have to get her into a care facility probly and lowered the price on her house...prayers for gramma please....

i need more coffee......

sending hugs and prayers to all.......

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Margo,

Prayers for your Gramma. That was a super high fever.

Your Friday was no picnic either. We should have skipped out of work and met for coffee instead.

Hugs, love

Margo, I just wanted to let you know that I am sending prayers up for your Grandma. Please keep us posted on how she is doing.

I do know that after my sister had her bad car accident she was at home and ran a 105 degree temp. They of course put her back in the hospital since she had a infection. Those high temps are dangerous. I personally have never heard of someone having a temp of 107.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Sorry about your grandma ... sounds like what was going on with my Aunt Bernice and her bladder infection. Who knew that bladder infections can cause colon blockage? I sure didn't! I know wonder if that's what's going on with Diva ... hope all is OK when your grandma gets some antibiotics in her. It worked with Aunt Bernice ... she is doing better now in the nursing home (although she doesn't eat well ... I gave her some of the chocolate peanut butter protein balls ... she loved them! good for her too.)
