WHAT'S NEW SATURDAY?
I have been busy, not so much at work, but busy. However, we have already done Christmas at Thanksgiving time when all our children were home. This year it is "In Law Christmas". Our kids like to spend the holidays with each other, so one year they come to us at Thanksgiving and the next year at Christmas. It works real well as everyone knows in all the familes how it works and can plan a year ahead. Like one year we went to an indoor waterpark resort at Wisconsin Dells and rented a huge 6 bedroom Log Cabin in the woods and it was lots of fun.
Mike and I used to go south for Christmas, but not this year. We are staying home. We are working at the homeless shelter helping with meals and going to Mass and we plan to go see a bunch of movies. We have been invited to
sdome peoples' homes for dinner, but thought we would enjoy helping others this year more.
God knows I don't need any more big dinners. I keep gaining weight. I am now up 20 pounds from my lowest weight...and my clothes are getting limited, but I refuse to buy any more. I just need to be on-line with you guys more often.
Tonight is my Company Holiday party....and since there is ANOTHER snow storm coming later tonight, we plan to leave early.[We had 11 inches of snow yesterday...which brings our total for just December of 28.3 inches....and we have lots more coming....yikes.
I need to get Christmas cards out Monday, so I am trying to get a letter done and all addressed today....but I sort of feel like taking a nice nap instead.
My daughter makes delicious toffee candy.....and she loves my lasagna, so we traded off, she made Toffee for me to give to my staff and I making
Lasagna for her to take to her in-laws for Christmas eve dinner. I thought it was an excellent trade. If I made the toffee I would eat half of it.
Hope your weekend is great.
Love, Marti

Good Afternoon My Peeps!
I'm trying to stay busy. We have about 6 inches of snow with another storm predicted for later today. Erin and family are on their way today instead of tomorrow. We won't rest until they pull into the driveway. Two adults, two little tornados and two dogs til next Friday at least. Remind me about Wednesday that I BEGGED for this!
We have the bonus room all set with toys, two cribs, a walker, and the fridge stocked with Diet Pepsi for Erin and Dr. Pepper for Josh. Erin still calls Dr. Pepper "grandma pop" after my mom. She loved it but liked it warm!
Everything looks so nice right now. I'm sure within an hour of their arrival it will look like Katrina went through. Cooked a small turkey this AM for sandwiches and am boiling the bones for soup.
Little does Maggie know that Bess and Lucy (one of Maggie's puppies) will be invading her space soon. Should be interesting. She's not used to sharing. She doesn't even seem to recognize that Lucy is "hers." She was a great mom when they were little but doesn't seem to have any lingering maternal thoughts.
Just about 11 above right now. I think the clear skies makes it colder. I may not be around much this week. Hoping you all find something to make the season meaningful. Marti, I've worked meals at the shelters and really enjoy doing that too. One of my friends is getting custody of her 12 yr old nephew. I think I'll pick him up something for Christmas. She said he has very few clothes.
Bye for now and you all try to stay warm!

After I finish my two versions of protein brownies (I'm experimenting to get the sugar content down), I will make my protein banana muffins and my protein chocolate pumpkin muffins. I'm trying to decide if I should put the pecans in the banana muffins or the chocolate muffins.
I think I've become obsessed with baking... is this what they mean by transfer addiction?!
