Karen,

My tummy isn't flat.  I've got a little pooch... and I've got my lovehandles...albeit, smaller than they were but they didn't tighten anything above my waist. I'm still mushy.

KarenC has a flat tummy....WAH...WAH... I want one, too!!

But. . . I guess one is never happy. The legs look worse than they did before when I compare them to the tummy!!

Hi everyone
We had lots of snow last night and it is a winter wonderland outside!!  It looks so beautiful, and if I had my surgery already, I would take the sled outside and find myself a big hill.  Sledding used to be so much fun.
When I was a child, my father would take me and the dog, Rex, a German shepherd, to one of the big gravel pits around here, and we would take turns going down the huge hills on his childhood sled, which I still have.  The dog was always at the foot of the hill, barking his head off as he watched us come down!  What fun that was.  My father, at the time, was not a young man and when I think back to those sledding days, I realize that he was probably in his mid forties.   I never saw other kids' fathers outside with them.  I wish that he were here so that  I could thank him for sledding with me and standing outside in freezing weather with the garden hose to make me an ice rink.  I think that he knew that I was grateful.

A young boy came this morning offering to clean my snow-packed driveway for $5.00.  I gave him $10.00 and asked him to clean the porch, too.  I paid him before he started and it was funny to see that he didn't want to take the money until he was done.  I told him that I trusted him and gave him the money then, anyway.  He cleaned the driveway, did a good job and, hopefully, believes that someone trusts him.
Well, this is my last day at work.  I'm a happy woman!
Have a blessed day.
Love,
Margaret

Hi Carla and my OFF family:

Happy birthday a day early to you! Happy Anniversary, Jan.

We have, they say, a foot of snow here. It was supposed to start at 7 last night, but by 11 when I left work, it hadn't started yet. It started at 3 a.m. when I was fast asleep. I zonked out ... I took a vicodin when I got home like I usually do, and as I was headed to bed I had such a bad pain in my knee (and I have the same one now ... like a thousand knives being stuck in the top of the knee) that I went back out into the living room and took another vicodin (it was more than three hours later). Luckily, I had refilled my prescription that day. Must have been the storm coming our way that kicked up the pain level. Started reading my book and immediately got so drowsy that I couldn't continue. Slept until 9 (thought it was 8, but voicemail says it was 9) when the phone rang ... ignored it and got up to go to the bathroom and back to sleep. It was my doctor's office, saying my bloodwork from yesterday was OK (potassium levels). So I'm now all set for Monday's surgery ... I have to be at the hospital (Spectrum Blodgett in Grand Rapids, same place as last time and my bariatric surgery, best place in GR) at 11:55 a.m., surgery's at 2 p.m. with Dr. Malvitz. He's supposed to be the best in the city ... he'd better be. All I can say is I am so ready for this to be taken care of.

We had a meeting at work yesterday concerning the new copy desk ... they had one earlier in the week earlier in the day, but I wasn't getting up that early. This was mostly sports folk, but I attended because it was at night. They are looking for about 50 people to make up the desk, which means they're looking to cut 50 percent of the copy editors. Seems more of the people from the eastern side of the state are coming over than they thought (or that's the way it looks now), and some of those folks may commute on a four-day workweek. So I don't know where I stand now. I'll still have a job, just don't know where. Makes me worry a bit. I guess I can't do anything about it until it happens. I think they want me on this desk (or at least that's what my boss told me, but he won't be my boss anymore) ... and that evaluation carries some weight. Nothing I can do about it until it happens.

I spent a good 45 minutes in here installing my new printer/copier/scanner. Had to buy a USB cable yesterday but now it's done. It's nice to have one again. I have some old photos from my mom's relatives in Iowa and some genealogy stuff I want to look through and add to my Family Tree program. Haven't gone through that for a long time.

Well, I need to get into the shower. I'll have to leave early for work because of the roads. Wish I could stay home but the newspaper still comes out even when it snows.

Have a good day.

Good Afternoon Carla and everyone...

First of all Happy Birthday Carla and Happy Anniversary Jan!

I am having so much fun with the kids. What a joy to be here!!

We are having Christmas Sunday evening as I will be leaving here on Wednesday early AM. I bought Gracie a huge kitchen and that needs to be put together yet. The burners make noise, the phone rings, the microwave beeps etc. I can't wait to see her play with it. We do a lot of tea parties and such.

Nic has taken over my car as usual....if it moves ....he is driving it!! What a blast that has been!!

Everything is going great with Carrie, Kyleigh, Amanda, and Lucas. They are anxious to see me on Wednesday. I sure have been missing them!!

I need to go play now.....I will check in later.

Love and hugs......connie d

Happy Birthday to you, Carla!

Happy Anniversary to you, Jan!

I'm late posting today.  Went early this morning to have my eyes examined.  Hubby said I was having my head examined!    Then got new glasses.  Nice to see more clearly again.  Grandson had his ear surgery and all went well.  We went to see him and he's so full of energy.  He was eating all morning and didn't seem to be getting full.  LOL  They are having a hard time trying to keep him quiet.  He's only 2 1/2 years old so it's hard to sit still when you are 2 1/2.  He's adorable.

Nothing else to share today.  Hope everyone has a joyous weekend.  I'm going back to my crochet projects.  I've made so many scarves for presents and a few to keep, too!  I really need to learn to make some other things I think.....

Hey Carla......long time no talk!!!  I don't know if I gave you my new e-mail address since Comcast took over as our server.  It's:  [email protected].

Happy birthday!!!!

What new job are you talking about?  You're not still at Super Cuts?

You're having thyroid surgery?  Boy it has been awhile since we've talked!!!  What's going on with your thyroid?  Try not to worry too much......you'll get through this!  I know that's easy for me to say, but I really think that everything will be fine.  You're strong!

You got a new car, too?  Don't you just love it when someone backs into you?  It always happens when you have a new car.....not an old beat up car when it doesn't matter.

And you are rubbing it in.....80 degrees!!!  Hmmph!!!!   LOL  Talk to ya later.
