Hi Carla, lol no your not rubbing it in , not much huh lol...shoveling sun indeed!!!!

Well today is our 21st wedding anniversary....and he is still my one and only....still makes me smile when he comes in the room. we lived together for 2 years before we got married so it is really 23 years we have been together. certainly doesnt seem like that long ago. we have been thru some serious stuff together and some things that tear a lot of people apart. no one that knew us back then said we would make it , they all said we wouldnt make it that there was too much difference in our ages. im 20 years older than Joe and we couldnt be happier, would i recomend it for everyone? no but for us it works. well dont know where all of this come from this morning. dont usually bare my sole so much just felt mushy today i guess. lol

Monday night we are having our support meeting /Christmas party, I appointed two girls to put it together and they have gone all out with nothing left unturned i think...we passed the hat at our Oct and Nov meetings for everyone to put in a little for the party and i dont even know what all they are doing. they ask my opioin about a couple of things and i told them that i trusted their judgemernt or i wouldnt have ask them to do this for us. so they have been having a ball lol..

the wind here this morning is coming in huge gust up to 45 miles an hour , sounds bad , that is the one thing that i guess im really afraid of. looks like it is going to be cloudy again today but up to 65 degrees ....im really about done with this dreary , cloudy weather.  as soon as Christmas is over we are leaving on our Goldwing Trike for all points in the south....will see if we can meet up with some of you ladies and /or gentlemen when we are more sure of our route and when....

well got to go and today is baking day for the family and all their favorites. am going to wrap then and send then home with them and my brothers will mail theirs ....may not get to them before Christmas but that is ok. too.     have fun today.

Jan, happy anniversary to you both. May you have nothing but happiness and joy in your life together. And may be there be many many more years ahead of you. May you have twice as many years as you do now!

I can understand what you are saying about people saying it wasn't going to work. Bill and I will be married 21 years in June and we knew each other for a week and got married. People thought that we were out of our ever lovin' minds. They said that it would never work and gave us 6 months. Each year on our anniversary we sit and laugh at them all. We proved everyone wrong.

that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!!!!
I love it when people buck the system, go against the system, whatever you want to call it and are victorious.  Where is it written that the husband has to be older than the wife or that the wife and husband should be the around the same age or the same anything?  (I am not a rule follower - I'm a sagittarian sp? and I am a free spirit)  So congratulations to you and your DH on your 21st anniversary!

Good morning to you dear Carla. I am so happy to see you up and at 'em so early. But then again you are a hour ahead of me here. So it is going on 6 for you. I hate those time zones since they require thinking and that is something that I don't do well. It gives me a headache if I think. Good as excuse as any if you ask me.

Nothing much happening here today. The weather is BAD and so I am staying right here and not venturing outside at all. It started out with sleet and then it snowed and now it is raining and them it is suppose to freeze and we are to get 4-8" of the white stuff. I guess it is better than it could be. In some spots in Illinois they are calling for about a foot of the icky stuff. I am just sitting at home and I am going to work on getting stuff into the gift bags that I bought yesterday. It is suppose to do this until early afternoon and then it is suppose to start again later on in the day. There is a lot of school closings but nothing here that I know of right now. They are saying that the roads are nothing but sheets of ice and they are asking everyone to stay in so I am not sure what is going to happen with the school. My bff works at the school and she said that if she missed today she is just going to have to make it up at the end of the year but I don't see the point of letting those buses out in this mess. It is really bad out there.

I stopped at Big Lots yesterday in Merrillville when I got out of the doctor's office and bought some gift bags. That is what I am going to work on doing today. I need to get the stuff that I bought into the bags and under the tree. I usually gift wrap but this year I just want to do things the easy way. I am just not wanting to wrap anything. So I got gift bags and tissue to make them look nice. I still have some things to get but it is waiting until after the bad weather.

I was suppose to go in to Chesterton and get my sister and go see about finalizing her new Medi-Gap stuff along with the Medicare part D. The insurance man called me yesterday and said that things are going to be bad and did I want to postpone that until Monday. I jumped at that chance. I told him that I had to come in from Portage and so I would rather change it. He is just about the nicest person I have met. He is so friendly and thoughtful. I lucked into meeting his partner at Wal Mart who was letting everyone know about the Part D and how you can change til the end of the year. Carolyn is getting Part C with the Medicare. A lot of people don't know about Part C. If you are not in the hospital a lot you can get the coverage from insurance companies and the government pays your premiums. She is going to be saving almost $600. a month. She is under 65 and so she pays more. Medicare privatizes the insurance out to a company and so that is how they can afford to pay the premiums each month. I thank God that I was at Wal Mart when that company was there.

The insomnia is hard at work this morning. I got about 2 hours of sleep tonight and now I am up and at 'em. I know that I am going to get so tired in a bit but I am hoping that I can nap a bit. Not sure since most of the time that doesn't work out.

I better get going. I am going to peruse around on here and see some of the changes. I did that the other day and it was alright. Nothing earth shattering to me that's for sure. I am getting hungry too so I want to get something to help me out in that situation too. I am thinking of a slim fast low carb shake. I get 20 grams of protein so that is a good thing. I have to figure out what to do for dinner too. I hate doing that. It is always such a problem. Oh the trials of being the chief cook and bottle washer here at the Russell household.

I am sending love and hugs to everyone along with special prayers. Remember to smile and make someones day. Your smile might be the only one that comes into their life today. It might make the difference of a good day versus a bad one. You never know. Stay safe and warm and if you are like Carla and shoveling sunshine think of us poor old souls that are shoveling Lake Michigan out of their front yards. You know how that goes, dear Carla, so take pity on us please!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

six hours of knitting and the scarf is about 1 foot short of being done! i think it takes longer to pull the "eyelashes" out to be pretty than it does to knit! that and the yarn is thinner so it takes more rows!!!!

my younger son emailed-his whole family has temps of over 100* and bronchitis and ear aches and yuckas and we are sposed to Christmas on sunday-my daughter-the hostess-does not want to change the date cuz she spent $4 on cauliflower and $4 on broccoli to make a veggie tray and veggie pizza--geezzzz....so- it should be interesting on sunday--

i woke up to a bill from verizon charging me more then $300 for my two free phones!!!hmmmmmmmmmmmm this had better change! and live ppl are not available for a few minutes yet.....

it's sleeting out-the dogs did the least they had to and ran right back in at 530!
sure wish we would have an ice day here so i could just go back to bed- the day is not starting out well!!!

off to call verizon...........
hugs and prayers

*edit--my daughter evidently got a replacement phone for something wrong with hers a few months ago and she never sent the old one back--"the stupid guy at verizon" told her she didn't have to send it back so she is now really not having a great friday either!!! ah kids..... it will be done and we will get credited for the $329!!!! goodness.....................i freaked you best know to see that charge on our bill!!!!!!!

*edit again--we MIGHT have Doc ( the bird) sold...ppl coming tomorrow sposedly with cash in hand..prayers requested on this.....we have had too many ppl want him and no one has money- this one came almost out of nowhere...even michael said taht the Lord works in mysterious ways!!!

tonite is plasma nite and we are sposed to get thta new to us washing machine--in the ice and sleet-s hould be fun!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
