I went to the surgeon today and........

There is a definite hernia there. The one by the belly button is the hernia and the one that I found the other day which is farther up and on the right side is the colon. I told him that the most pain is from the right side. The hernia at the belly button is on the left side by the way. He said that the colon is pooching out and having pain because it is filling with gas and lots of yukky stuff (you can imagine what it all is~yuk!) and that is when the pain happens. He told me that when it happens to lay down and press on it and that will make all the yuk go through.

He said that he would like to do a tummy tuck and it would be better if I lost 20 more pounds. He said that it was up to me and I told him that I would like to put it off as long as possible. He said that I could wait a bit and so I go back in March~hopefully 20 pounds lighter. That is not going to be easy tho since I lost 2 pounds in 2 months according to his scale. He did tell me tho that if anything happens differently than it is now to get back into see him right away. So with that said I will and will not drag my feet at all like I did this time.

Just thought that I would post it and let everyone know how it went and what was said. Thanks so much for all the concern you expressed and the phone calls too. I sure do love each and every one of you guys. You are fantastic and God blessed me really good for putting you all in my life.

Good to hear he is ready to do something right away if it happens to get worse. We'll talk more if and when you come up here (weather and your health permitting).

Brenda...Thanks for posting. I was wondering how you made out at the Surgeon's office.  You don't need to be having "YUK" "YUK".  I hope everything turns out okay for you and whatever needs to be done to make you better, please follow the Doc's advice.  Good Luck to you Friend............

Good to hear you have a diagnosis, Brenda.  I hope you don't have too much pain with this while you wait to have it fixed.  It's great you now know what to do if it does flair up though.  Sounds like the doctor is a good one!  Take care of yourself and keep good thoughts about losing those 20 pounds!  You can do it.  You can do it.

My big sister, Annette, I promise that I will watch for any changes and get to the doctor pronto. So far so good.

Thanks for all the help that you have been. I so enjoyed talking to you on the phone too. It is always nice to put a voice to the picture. Now you are a "real" person to me.

Sending love and hugs to you, dear one.

Hi Brenda,

The blessing part of this will having your insurance cover your tummy tuck! On 11/21 I had my first of two operations (upper body lift) and I'm planning on part two on 3/20 (lower body lift). I would have loved to have my insurance cover part of the costs associated with my reconstructive surgery.

I wish you all the best for a speedy recovery.

RNY 10/21/07 - down 115 lbs.
Total Hip Replacement - 4/23/08
Upper Body Lift (breasts, brachioplasty, lower face & neck) - 11/21/08
