Yikes!!!  A bat in your belfry! What is a belfry, anyway?

Loved your story, just sorry the little devil put you through it. Hopefully you'll be able to find out how he got in and keep it from happening again.

Gary has another late start today due to the icy conditions. My 9:00 client moved....yet again, to tomorrow so I don't have to go in until 12:00 when the roads will be clear.
Gary had a root canal last week and the temporary crown fell off during breakfast this morning. Poor guy, hates dentists and now has to go get it re cemented today. If it ain't one thing, it's another.

Work has definitely slowed down now, as expected. Everyone has gotten their "dos" for the holidays, so we can all relax just a bit.

Off to shower and bundle up. Hope everyone is safe, healthy and happy this hump day!

Susan

Good Morning Eileen and everyone......

I have my car almost packed and will be leaving in a couple hours. Lots of snow along the way. I am praying for good clean roads!! It will take at least 5 hours to get there with the weather like it is. Oh well...I will crank up the tunes and relax!!

I am wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas!! I pray that you all have safe travels where ever you go.

Like I said yesterday...I will check in when I can.

Love, hugs and prayers for all.......connie d

Good Wednesday morning!  You are right, bats ewww! Had a few encounters when we lived in OR.  Hope not to again!

Cleaned house this morning for my Christmas party.  You know, REALLY cleaned it!  From ceiling fans to windowsills to baseboards to floors!  I am ready!  Well, cleaning-wise.  I have my foods all planned - finger foods.  Plus everyone will bring something, but I am a WAY over achiever and will make a ton of stuff myself.  Everyone will also be bringing their own drinks, so that is a BIG savings for me.  Beer for the men, wine for the women, soda for the kids.  My DH and I don't drink ANY of that stuff, so we would never have it on hand.

This is the first time in probably 40 years that I am not making Christmas cookies, breads and candies.  For 15 years when we lived in OR I would fill 15 to 25 aluminum turkey roaster pans with Christmas goodies.  For my co-workers, my DH's co-workers, friends, neighbors and then as my kids grew THEIR co-workers.  There are 2 of my daughter's co-workers who STILL request a certain cookie when I go to OR to babysit.

I agree with the sleeping in thing.  My DH and I don't work and we are STILL both up by 4:30 every morning.  What is wrong with us?

Everyone have a fantabulous day and stay warm and dry!

Good morning my dear friends,

ewww... bats........ shudder....Eileen I would totally have freaked out!

I am waiting for my SIL to drop the girls off any time here.  He kept Cheyanne home from school yesterday and today.  Samantha has her Christmas party at school today, so she wants to go.  He said Samantha wasn't running a fever just coughing a little.  Nana & Papa are supposed to help at the party today but looks like only one of us will be going since one of us needs to stay here.  Maybe Cheyanne will help me finish up Christmas cards today.  We'll make it a "craft" instead of work.
LOL!

We got about 3" of snow yesterday, the worst of it during the rush hour.  It took my daughter almost 3 hours to get home from work yesterday and it's only 35 miles away.   She arrived home safely but exhausted and fighting a nasty cold.  When I talked to her last night at 6:30 pm she was eating soup and going to bed.  This morning she called on her way to work and said she felt much better.  Looks like tomorrow afternoon they are predicting lots of freezing ice here........It'll be another rough commute for people.  Seems like we are having our winter early this year so it will be a longggggg   winter.  Usually we go south for part of the winter but that won't be in our plans this year.  We'll just have to tough it out.

I need to bake a Banana bread  this am to take to the Christmas Party this afternoon .  The lady who gave us over 60 pounds worth of venison is the room mother and will be there so I want to bring her some homemade Christmas treats!
Hugs, Paulette

Hi my OFF Friends,
I'll be stopping by our Scout meeting tonight to talk about plans for our Valentine Sweetheart Dance that I chair.  2009 the dance is on the actual day, Feb. 14.  So we have big plans.  Mostly, I want to remind them about needing raffle items and that unwanted Christmas/Hannukah gifts make good raffle donations.  Yesterday I got a romantic weekend getaway donated by Homewood Suites by Hilton. WooHoo.  We have a live band and 400-450 people attend the dance so I want to make it really profitable this year.  All the profits go to send the scouts to camp and high-adventure trips.  Parents are going to need the extra help to send the scouts to camp with lean times ahead.
We had snow last night but it is very icy too.  The carved pumpkin that was on my deck is now in the middle of the yard half eaten - must be deer. The birds at our feeder have been ravenous and going through 7 lbs. of birdseed a week.
I'm late putting up my tree . . . will be doing it tonight.
Best wishes to all.
Bev

Good Morning Eileen and Friends,

It's about 10 here this am. That's cold for this area. No new snow but more predicted and it's supposed to stay cold for about the next week. Sure hope it doesn't prevent our kids from coming over the pass or down through the Columbia Gorge if need be.

Finished most of my shopping, haven't even started my Christmas letter. May or may not get it done before Christmas. I don't stress over that. People have more time to read them after the holidays anyway!

Thought I was through with the twins but found some adorable lavendar slippers with "C is for Cat" on them. Put one pair in each pack n play in the bonus room. They are crawling all over now and their mama doesn't believe in any shoes until they are walking. Perhaps soft, fuzzy slippers will be ok!

House is ready, but need to plan meals  and buy groceries for the week. To save my sanity we'll have homecooked one night followed by Chinese or Pizza on alternating nights. I have a small turkey in the freezer I plan to cook ahead for sandwiches and soup during the week. Think we'll have ham and roast beef for Christmas dinner.

I need to get in gear if I'm to be out and about before it gets too crowded. Need to mail a couple of things and that's always fun on this date.

Mike and I got married Dec 18, 1971. We'll go to dinner and perhaps to a movie tomorrow. When we were teaching it was always such a hectic week to try and do anything. Now that we're retired it helps a lot! I have a saying framed and on the wall that is called "Patchwork Marriage." I have referred to it many times over the years! It compares a marriage to a patchwork quilt with the "patches" becoming the strength of the marriage through the years. We have been through a lot, no more than most couples, but I do think that the tough times help one appreciate the good. I know I am not perfect, nor is he, but he does have many fine traits. Like that quilt I need to appreciate the "final product".  Sometimes I forget that and "pick at the seams" so to speak. Enough philosophizing. (sp? doesn't look right, too lazy to check. You know what I mean!) Have a good one.
