Wow, thank you for all the prayers and responses. I have contacted both the County Attorney's office and our lawyer. Neither called me back today.........(when did I pray for patience????).
In Iowa grandparents have absolutely no rights. Since Jake and Abbie were never married, Abbie has exclusive say about her daughter/our grand daughter. Jake has to go to court to get visitation rights clarified. He has to be in court when the hearing is held. Being in the Navy is making that difficult since Abbie plays games by asking for continuances.
Oh man, I just deleted two paragraphs of more drama!! Too much info and it really isn't necessary to expound upon here I guess. But thank you for the prayers and the concerns. I really am asking God to give me wisdom. I don't want to over react but I also don't want to shove it under the rug and pretend.........ah life, ain't it grand?????????

You and your family are all in my prayers as of right now. My husband is retired Navy and my son is active duty Navy. Tell your son to see the legal officer and see what he can do to help him with the court date issues. Most judges are very understanding. I used to work in the court room and the judges I worked for are compassionate and will bend over backwards to see that our servicemen and women receive fair treatment.

Vickie, IF there is the slightest chance that your grandaughter may have seen, heard or actually been the victim of molestation encourage her mom to get her to see a counsellor NOW. From personal experience I know how important counselling can be, and the sooner the better. I finally had counselling 40 years after the facts and it still helped.
