Happy Saturday Candy and Everyone!

16 hours is a long time to work, Candy.  Good for you.  New floors will definitely be worth it.  I want floors.  I wanted floors when we got carpet.  Hubby was worried about it being too cold on floors.  In Southern California, he was worried about being too cold??  Oh well....  you enjoy those floors.

Annette - LOVE your little Melanie!  A girl after my own heart with the jewelry.  You're a good Grandma....

My cold is getting a little better.  That's a very good thing.  I went shopping yesterday and I'm sure it helped to get rid of the cold.    It was a good day where everything fit!  LOL  Jan S. will be thrilled to hear I found jeans that fit!  LOL  I've been having trouble with them being too baggy in the leg.  Not anymore!

The plan is to clean house today as they are calling for the rain to start this afternoon sometime.  Off to the market for a few things and then clean and crochet.......

Enjoy your day everyone!

good morning!
candy i am envious your flooring purchase! i would love to have wood -or similar at this point!) rather than carpet-due to pets' smells etc!

you are lucky to have those hours-use them wisely-and be careful to you!!!!

i watched "The Christmas Visitor" last nite on hallmark-ended up still on til 1 am-so i did manage to sleep in til 8 this morning-am almost ready to go get pretty for the DAR luncheon--have to pick up my Regent at 1030 and  hope it will be smooth driving! we got snow overnite-that doesn't worry me- am hoping no ice underneath!

the rest of my weekend will be spent with my knitting projects- starte tdhe last hat last nite- finally happy with the yarn duo but got involved in tv...need to fringe a scarf for my nephew and get some things wrapped...with as big as this house is i have no flat space clean--hmmmmm that will be a project on it's own! a big table in the basement can be cleaned off and commandeered to be wrapping central-not that i have THAT many presents but i like space!!!!

hugs and prayers to all..............

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Well, about the floor....

I started out looking for  a new floor for my family room, because I tore up the carpet due to age (it's age, not mine), and pet stains.  I wanted wood or laminate, but was worried about future pet stains leaking through (although I've been pretty lucky there...), but the cost and the clearance under my ho****er baseboards was not do-able.  I ended up with a beautiful vinyl that looks like planks, and I have an area rug already that looks beautiful on it.  While I was at it, I found the same quality vinyl for the kitchen and foyer, which is right next to the family room.

I dickered about a price for a few weeks, and got such a deal I decided to re-carpet the two bedrooms, which were originally going to wait till next year.  I then dickered for a better price for the whole package.

Over 500 square feet!  48 months same as cash!  (I dickered there, too...)  I plan to have it paid off before I retire in 16 months, but it's nice to have the time cushion.

My French doors to the Family room will be installed this coming Wednesday.

No wonder I'm so cash poor!  The house is coming along nicely, though...

I want to get all the "big stuff" done int he house before I retire, because I'll be living a little "smaller" after that.  The overtime gives me extra money in my paycheck, of course, but also adds to my final monthly pension  amount once I do retire.  I don't like working OT, but that's the price I pay, I guess.  I'm young enough, now healthy enough, that I can work a few extra shifts a month if they're available, for the next year or so.

SO, that's the saga of my floors.  I never knew a person could dicker prices with retailers, but my girlfriend insisted I try.  I was surprised that it worked so well for me.  They're hurting too, I guess.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend.  One more cuppa, and I'm off to make pizzelles for my son for Christmas.  They're his favorite, and he deserves them.

Candy, thanks for getting us started this morning.

I wish everyone a good Saturday and I know that mine will be. I not only have my favorite day of the week today but I am having lunch with Eileen and Paulette and Earl. How much better than this can it get? Life is wonderful and it just keeps getting better.

Last night I found another poochey spot on my stomach. I know that I am not seeing things since Bill saw it too. I was hurting there all evening since I went to the grocery and put the bags in the car trunk and then carried them in. I know that the problem bags was the 2 with the pork butt roasts in them. I did pack them only one a bag and nothing but them in them.

The store had a sale on the port butt roasts and I make taco meat and BBQ pork out of them. I was going to put one in the crock pot but I thought that I had enough stuff going on now so I put them both in the freezer. So they will become whatever when I am feeling better. It makes the taco meat so easy to make since the only time consuming part is pulling off the meat from the fat. I paid .99 a pound and it makes a lot of meat and I cook it for 12 hours in the crock pot so it is so tender most of it falls off the bone. Bill, DS and our nephews just love it when I make them. Oh dear, does that mean that they are going to be here to eat? I have to make sure that Bill doesn't tell anyone I am making them. They come and eat me out of house and home!

I am sitting here watching on TVLand my favorite show in the world. Yes! You all guessed it~I Love Lucy is on for 4 hours. I am in heaven.

I am meeting Eileen and Paulette and Earl for lunch today. I think that Bill is coming~especially since I told him that Earl was coming and there would be a man there. ha ha  I am so looking forward to it. Then on Tuesday some friends from the IN board are coming over and I get to meet them. I have talked to Janene and Mark so much and now is the time I get to meet them. They are married and both of them had wls but Janene is the one that posts. I have wanted to meet them so badly. I am having such a blessed holiday this year.

I have to hem my pants today. Yes! I know that I have been putting that off and so since it is Saturday I have to do it today since I am not doing it tomorrow morning before church. I have to read for when Bill lights the advent candles tomorrow morning and I don't hem them tonight I will be stumbling and falling all over the aisle at church since they are so long. I am so looking forward to wearing it. I think it makes me look good an it fits so nice too. At least it did when I bought it. It better still fit nice. Or I am going to be a mad woman. ha ha  There is some people that think I am a mad woman anyway. If they only knew!

This week end it is suppose to be so nice. Today it is going to be in the 40's and tomorrow it is suppose to be warmer. I am so looking forward to it. It is going to rain but who cares~it is going to be warm! Then they are calling for more cold on Monday. Such weather! And it there going to be a lot of sick people or what? that is what's so bad about weather like that. the sickness is going to be much worse.

I better get going. I am sending love and hugs to all and special prayers are going up for everyone. Have a wonderful day and remember one thing~it is Saturday!!!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Good morning.....I had such good intentions to clean today, put up the tree, get out my cards and go to a party at noon at our pastor's house.........well last night my son called from work he is working 6pm to 6am.  His wife was really sick and so we went out they live in the country and got our grandaughter.  She cried at the top of her lungs when we put her coat on, gave her mom a big guilt trip.  By the time we were out of the driveway she was laughing with us, and asleep by the time we got to the highway.
Got out new employee manual yesterday at work.  I will start getting another weeks vacation next year......yaa hoo........

Good morning all,

Getting ready to head out the door.  Plan to do some final Christmas shopping before Earl & I meet up with Eileen & Brenda this afternoon.  There is a huge Bass store near where we are meeting them and I promised Earl we'll spend some time in there afterwards.  He needs some new fishing stuff so what better place to go and let him pick it put since I don't know what he needs.

Hugs, paulette

Good afternoon George & everyone. Congratulations George, you have done awesome!! Well I have my Christmas shopping done, & it's a goos thing. Having this stent in my bladder or kidney( not sure) makes me feel like I have to go all the time!
I tried to grocery shop yesterday & ended up waiting in the truck. My DH had to finish for me. I hope to get it taken out on Christmas Eve. I will never let them do it again.
I have 4 granddaughters here this weekend. So far we have made cookies, painted Christmas ornaments & made spaghetti & meatballs. Time for a movie & a rest for Grandma. Have a great weekend!!!

Good morning Candy and everyone.....

I got up this morning and decided to bring some Christmas decorations, wreaths etc. into the house.I wasn't going  to decorate this year because I am leaving on Thursday but I needed to get in the spirit. I didn't put up my big tree but it still looks like Christmas in here.

Dwayne and I had an awesome time last night with my friends from the MN Board. The preformance was just great!

Got to hurry out the door. Hopefully I can catch up later.
