Congratulations on your surgiversary George!  150 lbs lost that is impressive ...a whole person!!  I received the beautiful Christmas card from you & Mary yesterday.  I love homemade cards! I'm still working on getting my cards written. Not sure if I'll finish making any this year or not although I have some left that I made last year.
Congrats!

Good morning, Candy.. and Off'ers...

Yep, I guess you were first!!

3 a.m.... can't sleep.... well, two hours at a time.... you know how I am.

I got a few Christmas packages wrapped and more to go.  Kitchen is clean.  Need to finish up the living room 'today'.... do some laundry....hang up clothes...

This 1/2 day at work has been a killer because I'm behind... so I've got offers to work, contracts to sign, extensions to print... and my darn toner cartridge is out.  I either have to go to the office or drive to Arlington and find the toner store.

Was going to make some apple/cinnamon scones to take to Starbucks this morning but think I might do better with the pumpkin roll.  Nice they let us bring stuff in... we are regulars and don't take away from their $$$...since everyone who normally buys goodies buys them anyway.    We buy bigger drinks on Saturdays.  Our WLS breakfast is this morning, I think, but I don't want to drive to Ft. Worth.  Okay, I'll admit it.... I want to go back over to the $8 Fashion place.

Mike has a date for a party tonight at a friend's house in Dallas.  YEA!!!  Same gal...the schoolteacher.  Hope they have a good time. This is several times they've been out.

My weight has dropped a little more from my surgery.  I can tell my stomach and my thighs are still swollen as I have no feeling....and they are squishy.  Dr. told me I could quit wearing my band but I'm going to continue and add the Spanx for my thighs..... maybe force some of the swelling down.... scale is dropping... I'll tell you when the magic number get****

Going BACK to bed.  Everyone have a nice day.

Good Saturday morning, all.

Our weather is starting to dip again.  This has been a strange year here.  One week in the 20's to 40's.  Another week 50's to 70's.  That is morning lows to afternoon highs.  At least we are faring better than the Northeast.  My Sissy has no power and her road is closed due to ice.  She does have a generator that runs the fridge, some lights and the toaster oven.  She also has a wood stove that pretty much heats the house.

No grandkids spent the night last night, they all went to the HS basketball game.  I expect I'll be seeing them for 'breakfast' around 10 or so.

Today I will be cooking 'taco meat' and putting it in the freezer to use with my nacho bar at the Christmas party next Saturday.  And I'll be going to the Commissary to look for EAS Carb Advantedge.  They had a coupon there last week for $3 off 2 packs, I bought all they had on the shelf.  My DH is gonna be using that for his 2 week pre-op liquid diet in Jan and I will need LOTS of it!  So today I will go to 2 commissarys and clean them out again!  The coupon is 'military only'.

I hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend.

Good morning Candy and all,

Candy - that is a hard schedule. Rest well.

For my 60th birthday, my family presented me with a birthstone bracelet. The stones represent my daughters and their kids birthdays. Melanie likes to name the people as she examines the bracelet. Recently I put on my ruby bracelet, and she proclaimed it "ALL MELANIE", which is her birthstone.

She asked to wear it for a while. I always let her wear my bling bling, supervised for a bit. When it came time to give it back, she threw a tantrum, insisting it was hers.

Some day, it will pass along to her. But a 3 year old does not get it yet. I promised her that grandma will get her her own special bracelet.

AHA - I found them at A.C.Moore (craft store) 50 cents each and more suitable for a 3 year old. "Them" because I bought six. One for Melanie and 5 for back-up when she misplaces it.

I can't wait to take them to her today. My plan is to walk in wearing the "treasure", let Miss Melanie discover, and KEEP it.

It is such fun to be a grandmother. Annette

Annette,

The treasures are priceless, aren't they?  It IS fun to be a grandmother.

Kohl's had diamonds for 60% off and another 15%.  I bought Kara her first.... studs... 1/8 ct..... cheap...!!   Her mother and dad will probably kill me but they were normally $125... I sure didn't pay that.

My sister said last night that I always gave 'good Christmas' and better than I get because I'm a good shopper..... and laughed... I HUNT for the gifts until I find exactly what I'm looking for at a price I can pay.... and it's usually not much.  I'll admit, I've wrapped socks one in a package so there'd be more under the tree.

I so enjoy your antics with Melanie.
