Hello fellow Dragon slayer.  Loved you post this am about holiday foods.

B- Oatmeal, skim milk and coffee
S Cheese stick
L- meeting Brenda & Eileen, planning on salad and some chicken
S:
D: 1 c. leftover venison whole wheat spaghetti  ( a friend gave us 50- 1 lbs packages  of ground venison so I've been experimenting. works like using ground turkey, very lean no grease in tha pan after browning,  The chili was awesome and using it in spaghetti sauce worked great too.  hmmmm what else can I do with it???}

 Paulette....

Meatloaf...   and meat balls, a good meat for this....

Stroganoff....   a little sherry added give it a nice boost

When my Mom returns she will be bringing venison with her.  I grew up on wild meat.  Not many enjoy the "gamey" taste  but there are ways to alter it...  sherry,  red wine... even soaking a roast in red wine takes some of the gamey flavor out.

One of my current meats is ground buffalo...  virtually no fat... and a beef like flavor

Good Luck and Happy Cooking

Hi Millie,

Thanks for the ideas on meatloaf, meatballs and stroganoff too.. I'll be trying those soon.

I too grew up with venison.  My dad was an avid hunter, we usually had the roasts and steaks.  He would take the rest that would be ground and have sauage and brats made from it so we never had much of the ground meat and all my mom ever made with it was chili with the ground venison.

I haven't had buffalo but lots of other game meats,  bear, rabbit, pheasant,  The only thing I won;t try is wierd fishy things or snake or snails.....ugh!  My hubby lived in Hawaii and Japan when in the Marine Corps and likes lots of different things like that but not me.  I tried calamari once then found out what it was. I do eat clam chowder LOL, not so much anymore though!

Thanks again for the ideas, Paulette
