OT: Let Her Rip
For lack of a better name I'll just say let her rip for our gripes.
Ok, Here are the rules, if you have a gripe about someone on the boards spill your guts, but NO NAMES are to be used.
Get this off your chest for a better weekend, don't carry the gripes around all weekend, get riid of them here....
Mine:
1. Lack of $$$
2. Family members that make promises and don't keep
3. I hate Santa
4. Not being able to do much exercise with my knee that got injured
5. Lack of $$$
6. Prices that have gone up and out of reach

Just a wimpy little gripe. Yesterday I had the opportunity to leave work a few minutes early to walk over to the credit union to order my money for England. Yes, finally getting a chance to do that after trying for over a week. I get to the other bldg, and wouldn't you know it, the doors were locked. They closed due to inclement weather. By then everything was over and done! No other departments had gone home early. Now, I have to make time today to walk over and take care of business.
Of course, I could use more $$$, but we've got enough to keep the roof over our heads, food in our tummies, and a little extra for splurging occasionally.
I love Santa! My version is not as round, his beard is not quite as white or full, but he sure jingles my bells!

2. Wish I hadn't caught hubby's cold. Ugh..... but it could be worse.
3. Time. Wish I had more time. The money goes without question!
4. Wish I didn't work with quite so many idiots but they're everywhere these days!

#1. Having to get rid of my two cats that I love. One of the grandkids and my daughter-in-law are allergic. The thing is, neither of them had a reaction while spending a day and a half at my house. My family suspects that once I give my kitties away that my daughter-in-law will come up with another excuse of why they can't stay with us and I'll have given the cats up for nothing.
#2. Some idiot, for a pittance, broke in and stole all the copper piping from our old house we are trying to sell. Now we have to hire a contractor to come in and redo all the plumbing. Costing us more money we could have used for other things.
#3. That 53 people from my company got laid off just before Christmas. Their last day is Dec. 19th. Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukkah and Kwanza.
Well I'll save some for next week. AAHHH! I feel better already. Thanks for letting me vent.

Good Morning Darlene.....
My biggest gripe is of course that I want that damn Cancer of Nic's to go away!! We have had enough!!!!!!! Where is the justice in all this!
My other gripe is my best friend who I love dearly. However, she is putting a damper on my relationship with Dwayne. Pam always struggles at the holiday season because she has never been married and has not dated much. She has a hard time dealing with "couples" especially now until Valentines Day. She is coming across like I am never there for her and that isn't true. She and I went to play Bingo Monday night and she spent the day with me on Wednesday. She is always included in most everything Dwayne and I do. She is really pulling away. I feel like I am the bad guy here. She was invited to go to the anniversary party tonight but won't go. There are going to be plenty of single people there that she knows. She says she can't stand to see me so happy when she is so sad. That hurts me. I understand her being sad but I am not going to give up Dwayne either just so we can be lonely together!! Dwayne treats her so good. He always includes her in conversations, hugs her, dances with her etc.....I don't know what to do! I am so frustrated right now!!

She is making all those choices herself Connie, don't let her make you feel like your the bad guy in the situation, your doing more than I would....I ask myself how good of "friend" is she really? Don't friends want to see friends happy?

Cleaning up daughters house, doing laundry, running dishwasher only to go over there this am and find dirty clothes all over the floors (not in the empty hampers since I did all their laundry on Monday), sink, stove and counters covered with dirty dishes (not in the empty dishwasher since I ran that and put all the clean dishes away on Monday). grrrr,,,,,,,,,,,,,
3. Lack of time at home because I'm spending so much time cleaning up my daughters house. (Guess I needed to repeat this one for me!)
4. Feeling used, abused and unappreciated but greatful that daughter and granddaughters are healthy, just wish they'd learn to pick up after themselves and not require a cleaning, laundry etc. lady, just would like to be Mom & Nana.

Paulette, it is kind of like what we talked about on the phone yesterday. Children (and yes stepchildren too!) have a habit of taking advantage of us. As long as we keep doing we are just helping them take advantage. My bet and my opinion only is that if you stopped picking up and doing laundry and such it would stop. It might take a few days but if you stay strong and just go there and do what you need to do i.e. getting the girls off to school and such, she would get the hint that you are Mom and Nana and not the cleaning lady or the working at the laundromat. I know it isn't going to be easy but I bet in the end you will see a difference. She has to stand on her own two feet and that means taking care of her home. I hate to sound mean and that is my opinion and nothing else. I wish you luck and send you love and hugs. I can't wait to see you and Eileen tomorrow for lunch.
