Debbie....welcome to my world...sucks huh?

Drive carefully....I am a seasoned winter driver but you folks down there just aren't used to this slick, icy, snowy weather.

Hugs...connie d

Most drivers down here can't drive worth a darn anyway, add snow or heavy rain and we're in deep doo-doo.  It's already melting - YEAH!!!

They probably don't have the equipment to treat your roads either!  Watch out for the other guys!

Well, that sure is a sign of change, isnt it?  We have serious slippery roads here..freezing rain and Im off to have lunch with a friend...she wants to buy one of my mandala books so Im taking five different themes along.  Of course, Im used to driving in several FEET of show.

Debbie..the trick is not to panic..drive carefully..dont make any SUDDEN moves with the steering wheel.

And if, by any chance, that you do go into a skid, try to just hang on to the steering wheel...do NOT slam on the brakes...but look directly where you WANT to go..dont stare at the side of the road...and you will automatically steer the car out of the skid.

Sounds trickly, I know..I have grown up with it and we do it automatically.  Just dont slam on the brakes..that alone will send you into a tail spin on slick roads.  Just tap lightly and quickly if you must to slow you down.

*hugs*  you will be fine..don't get yourself all worked up...breathe.  I will be with you.

Thanks for the tip Nancy.  Believe me, I won't be driving in it.  I'll stay put till spring if that's what it takes!  Chicken - yep!  Thankfully it's just about gone now.  Drive home should be safe.

Debbie, it is tricky driving in the snow. I would agree with you about staying put until spring if that is what it takes to not drive on it. I drive on it every year and I never get use to it. I know that when you guys get a bit of snow things just freeze up and stop since you are not prepared for it. Unlike around here with tons of salt ready for the roads. Heck around here people just get in and go and the sad thing is they usually drive the same crazy way they do when the streets are clear. Oh dear! I am glad to hear that it is stopping and clearing up.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Sailed home in the usual time frame - no snow or ice on the roads or bridge.  We still had some in the front and back yards, but for the most part, everything was just a wet mess.
