What happens at the pre-op test two weeks before surgery?
each doc is different-mine were some last minute paperwork, a visit with the nutritionist, some bloodwork -checking ears nose throat etc--bp heart etc-making sure all clearances were done ( i have sleep apnea and needed heart clearance too) gosh-now you have me thinking! maybe someone more currently operated on will comment!
where in mich is your surgery? that might help others to answer better!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

As was said, each surgeon does things differently, my PATs as they called them (pre-admission testing) included bloodwork, urinalysis, chest x-ray, breathing test, a meeting with the nutrionist who went over what my food intake would include for the six weeks post-op, a meeting with the respitatory specialist teaching me what I would have to do using the spirometer after surgery and finally, a meeting with the doctor letting me know how the results of everything went. Some others also had to have a scan of their gall bladders, but my surgeon did not require that. All told, I was there for about 3 hours and I did have to go fasting, though after the blood work they gave me a little something to tide me over until they were done with me.
